Curious what others show for the default warranty when purchased and how this compares to retail. My initial understanding was they would be the same - now not so sure.

Of REAL interest is what retail purchasers show when checking status. Login to Dell support and using your service tag, check the items under warranty status.

Example of what you might see:
    Description----------------------Provider---Start Dt---End Dt---Days Left
    NBD (Next Business Day on-site)...DELL......4/14/2010...4/14/2011.....48

Do you see "complete cover" or similar there?

Also and very much related to the above is in the "Original System Config" tab do you see specific mention of "complete care" or "complete cover" etc? If so what SKU or ID# do you see listed?

    Example:
    Qty---Parts #-----Part Description
    1.......10YP1.........Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor SU7300 (1.3GHz/800MHz FSB/3M Cache)

I suspect retail buyers are going to get screwed when it comes to warranty claims and might explain some of the discrepancy we see in forum.

Any other input? Looking to compare warranties for online and retail buyers.
