I was just wondering if anyone here knows how many m11x versus m15x, versus m17x laptops are being sold. I am only talking about the current model of each and not the legacy 15/17 inch.

I would think the M11x out sells the others by many multiples.

I wonder if it would be a good business decision by Dell to drop all 3 and develop a super fast 13". this machine should have a 13" 1400X900 display that has a processor and gpu and thickness to play 1080p games at there highest setting.

Maybe sell a companion 24 monitor that goes up to 1080p.

I am guessing that M11x turns a pofit but the other 2 loose money.

Dell wouldn't drop all three sizes to make only one size. Not everyone wants a smaller laptop. A 13" laptop wouldn't be able to fit everything that the M17x offers in its smaller chassis. Hardcore gamers wouldn't like that. People have varying needs that's what there are three sizes. As far as the other two losing money, they wouldn't offer those sizes if it wasn't making a profit.

I have never seen a M15x in the wild. All I see is either the M11x or the M17x.

Heck, ASUS has about 8000 different models going at any given point in time.

True that. 13" may be too small a screen size for some people. And you can't really cram a GTX 460 or similar in that space or the thing would weigh more than 8 pounds. Kinda contradicts the point of an ultraportable.
