So I got the m11x when it first launched, and my battery is crapping out. Just today I got a notification from windows saying I should consider replacing my battery. Also, I noticed it heavily today when it died after skyping on it for only about 1 hour or less.
Can I buy a replacement battery somewhere? Or am I stuck with the wall or buying a new laptop?

I guess you could buy from Dell or try E-bay.

I couldn't really find the battery on Dell (Canada) website. Guess I'll check ebay. Anyone else bought a battery off ebay?

My brother managed to get a battery for a 2006 MBP, initially he thought he had been done-over as no notification of posting, however the battery turned up and works a treat.

I dont think ebay is "the problem". Check seller rank/reviews etc. have you checked the forums here? Place a want ad possibly.

Please can we have more Alienware reps browsing the forums 31 posts from you is not enough this is the place you should/need to be. Please also pass back the feedback that the forum thread that has nearly the highest majority of browsers in the alienware section and not to mention single users over the entire forum is the now the obselete M11x forum, hence one of numerous reasons why you should not be discontinuing the M11x.
You could have made a bombshell with an Ivy ULV 650M GT DDR3 in exactly the same shell as all the other M11x's!! Not to mention implement a simple Matte screen and you are instantly going to out sell any other major seller because people want the M11x!
I need not hear a reply about how the company is moving in another direction because at the end of the day people want portable 11-12 inch gaming models and we will pay out of the ear for them just like we did the M11x, we do not want a Tablet or Apple lookalike ultrabook you only have to look at the vast majority of other companies trying to same to see it is a massive failure because Apple always smash the rest out of the water and you will be in even more debt in a debt crisis that is already clearly effecting you. In fact if you would rather employ me and pay me nothing to design the M11x R4 then market it and see if you make a loss I will single handedly work off the loss for the rest of my days for free if I am wrong. Why? because I will still have an M11x R4.
You know it makes sense, tell your boss Yiddo says so and wont let it drop! We want an M11x R4 you would be stark raving bonkers and mad to not take advantage of it especially as the release of the Clevo/Sager 11 inch model has not been a success but look how many people have jumped on it because you said no to an R4.

Hi Yiddo, we have just started with this project, I'm part of the pilot Team that will take care of the issues down here on notebookreview, we are 5 people posting all over the place and those 31 posts that you see under my name have been created mostly today. I wish we had m11x R4 as well, I have an R1 myself and it has worked flawlessly and I know that lots of people use the M11x series because it is really easy to carry out with you. I will be giving your feedback to our Marketing team, but also check on Idea Storm , there DELL will listen to all your ideas and if you have enough votes DELL with make it true. Keep sharing your feedback and comments with us because we highly appreciate them. #IWork4AW

I will save my breath for the idea storm I got my word to you that is what matters, I sincerely hope whatever project it is you are working on will severely produce better than what the M11x can give in terms of gaming, performance portability and battery life. I say this because in my eyes I do not believe you will be able to and fear that you will be sorely disappointed because the M11x is what everyone wants.
I understand that change is a natural way of life and of every company even the one I work for needs it but in this case I really believe that the old saying if something is not broken do not fix it, improve it. Stands.
Your 31 posts are worth more than 2000 of mine and there is no website like this one so please get more of your reps on this forum because it clearly works for other companies who get involved and I will bet 90% of your gaming notebook purchasers browse this forum if not more and your sales would not only benefit your already excellent warranty it would make it an easy choice for a worried buyer in the market who has had a bad RMA experience in the past, ie. every Asus owner.
Much respect.
Y
P.s. If there is an M10x or M12x on the cards please disregard everything I have said and carry on. Otherwise the above stands. -

I've never checked out the idea storm before... interesting. Would seem to have some impact with measurable "votes" and measurable "outcomes". Better than guesswork when measuring the impact of a forum.
IOW, I get why they prefer a centralized place to get feedback - idea storm puts the burden on consumers to tell what they want rather than possibly biased Dell employees crawling forums/blogs and compiling data. -
