Hey guys, I'm about to pull the trigger on a M11x-R1 with SU7300.
I was wondering if there are any common issues with the M11x-R1's?
And has there been any success in fixing these common bugs?
Thanks.

the only issue i have with my r1 SU7300 is the hinge, nothing more to complain.
you should buy it with <4gb ram because i have only 2 and it gets a little heavy sometimes to play some games or open some progrmas (like VMware) -
but anyway the hinge issue is very common, probably 2/3 chance you'll have it or something. You may also have the screen-->keyboard touch issue
You also may have a (small chance) that your processor won't OC properly, most have no problem in the R1. -
since i have my m11x (almost 2 months) i haven't turned off the overclock and works fine, the only issue i have is the hinge thing and screen/keyboard contact, dell changed my screen once and the second screen is missaligned already -
I did have a great time with this system, but it does have its flaws.
Mine is almost be stable at 1.73GHz, but occasionally it will freeze and require a hard reboot. This difference in speed is really needed for certain programs and games, so I have my choice of 60 frames per second with questionable stability, or a stable CPU but only 30 frames per second (varies by game of course, but you get the point).
The hinge issue and the screen touching the keyboard issue go together. My hinge hasn't broken, but my screens gets dirty from touching the keyboard.
This isn't technically a problem, but when using the decicated graphics card while plugged in but with the battery mostly discharged (meaning it's charging the battery and powering the good GPU) the PSU can get extremely hot. Dell obviously figured this out because the R2 comes with a 90w PSU rather than the 65w PSU R1 users get.
Another thing that technically isn't a problem but is still worth noting is how horrifically bad the screen is. It's not very bright, the viewing angles are terrible, and the colors are bad as well.
I've been fine with all the BIOS, the fan really hasn't been an issue on mine, since I think that problem only happened when Command Center was always running (I make changes and close it, and never have it run at boot time).
Some things I did like include:
The build quality minus the LCD assembly/hinge. The main chassis is great. It's light, solid, and has absolutely no flex. The keyboard is also decent, especially with the backlighting. The touch pad polling rate is good unlike the M15x/M17x (my M15x touchpad is usually turned off in favor of a mouse, even when I'm not playing games), and the R1 stays very cool. My typical maximum temperatures after a while of gaming were around 65 Celsius maximum on the GPU, and less than the on the CPU. -
My M11x has been going great Stable OC, No hinge problem thank god, Great battery life. The only RARE ISSUE I HAD WAS WITH THE NEW BIOS BUT the fellas on here helped me fix it. Its great considering the price.

If you are looking for a used one let me know ... I have kept my R1 for a bit as well as R2 but am now going to sell it. Pristine condition, as well. You can see an image of it next to my netbook in a post I wrote here.

I agree with many posts here aside from LCD quality.
I mean it is not the best but it is very good. I definitely cannot say anything bad, but are there other 11inch notebooks with better screens? -

Where did you buy it from?
