Must be my environment... I dont notice the fan. Have you tried logging fan activity? You can compare BIOS versions better this way.

I honestly wish that Dell made another Bios which allowed us to access the FSB multiplier and Fan control.

Fan control too? Probably too many warranty "claims" after that.

erm someone mentioned there m11x is usually at 45 degrees, and goes to 35 when fan turns on... my not doing much temp is 55, games at 70, max settings for evreything puts it upto 80 degrees, my laptop never is below 50 (except for when it first gets turned on)

ive set the processor to 99 in battery settings which disables intels turbo boost which keeps it lower by a few degrees, and underclock the graphics card to the lowest possible, otherwise its going to melt through the desk, bios is A05 and graphics driver is 266.58.

is other peoples like this or is mine screwed? :/

    Edit: wrong thread - ignore

I think you may have a R2 which uses a i5 or i7 CPU. This thread is for the R1 that uses a core2 Duo. If you do in fact have a R1 those temps are very high...

25C (summer) outside where wild things live.

My M11xR1 dips to a base temp. of approx 35C and peaks at around 50C.
A sliding rule of 5C above this range is no problem.

If I walk away and leave system alone... it drops to 40... maybe less. I'm using FF which by itself likes to use CPU cycles and even a few GPU cycles and temp will be in the upper 40s during use. Seem normal to me.

Definitely noticed a slight temp increase with A05 coming from the stock A01 BIOS. GPU tops at 62 when gaming when it previously never exceeded 60. Fan seems to be on far more often but the system overall is considerably quieter.

    Idle temps Min/Max:

    CPU - 34/46
    GPU - 43/53

Fan still getting stuck after switching from nvidia to integrated?

Do fans still come on randomly like they have a mind of their own even when idle or office editing or light web surfing?
