Recently, I have noticed a bulging on the battery of my m11x, and has bent the bottom of the laptop. The battery has had no capacity for some time and has essentially become a more mobile desktop. I have had this computer for a little over 2 years, though for the past year the battery has not worked.

    A few questions:
Has anyone else experienced this situation?
Is the battery in a dangerous state?
Where are good places to buy replacement batteries?
Can the m11x run without a battery installed?

    Thanks all,

    Jim

Has anyone else experienced this situation? I haven't in either of my m11x machines.
Is the battery in a dangerous state? Potentially. I would take it out as soon as reasonably possible. At minimum, you're risking damage to other components.
Where are good places to buy replacement batteries? Dell or eBay.
Can the m11x run without a battery installed? Probably, but I'm not certain. Most laptops can.

Bulging is never good with a battery could potentially mean it is ready to split and has had it. The M11x does not need the battery in and they are only £30-40 to replace. Dispose of it safely.

Sounds like it's ready to explode. I would remove it ASAP, if as you say it holds no charge anyway then it won't make any difference (other than less weight).
