Been having a curious problem over the last week or so,

windows seems to think that the battery life for my m11x is about half hour or so unplugged, right now its at 0% in windows, the alien head is flashing and it keeps putting me into sleep mode, but the battery LEDS on the bottom of the m11x say the battery is full, i know there is no way i can drain a 5+ hour battery in half hour just browsing the internet, so i dunno whats going on.

    any suggestions?

I would say the first step is to remove the battery and power-cycle the system (push the power button for roughly 15-30 seconds to flush out any remaining charge/etc). Let it sit for about 5 minutes, then put the batter back in.

Download batterybar and see what your battery wear says

When i first got my m11x i had to change the battery within the first week. I had 10% of wear and it kept increasing. Search my name and you will see the details of it.

It sounds like the similar situation to mine. Do what GiSS says as that is the first thing that alienware tech support had me do before excanging my battery. The batterybar applications also helps when talking to alienware tech support.

    Hope it helps

Battery bar says battery wear is at 0%

Followed GiSS's advice now batterybar says the battery life is 45 minutes, windows 7's battery icons telling me 5 hours so it seems to have worked i think. :)
