I recently dropped my m11x on its outershell of the part of the laptop and now the light at "ALIENWARE" doesn't light up anymore and neither does the monitor.

I tried plugging my hard drive into an external and that worked fine and my warranty is over. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Thanks!

The connection from the screen to the bottom side of the palm rest likely came loose ... it's located on the side with the e

My laptop does this all the time, and I have to take it apart to reconnect.

okay I tried getting below the keyboard, but the screw that secures the keyboard down from the battery side was weaker than my screwdriver, so now I can't unscrew it. wth?

Those are little buggers I was lucky that I got a replacement keyboard so I managed to put those screws back in but both of mine were totally threaded and I had to bust both the sockets to get the keyboard out. :( They do not actually do a lot to hold the keyboard in place and as long as you only break one you could try to pry it out and snap the socket, mine broke quite easily.

The problem you will have by doing this is bending the keyboard. Think you might need to RMA it.

If you get the screw out, the cable for the Alienware Logo is shown here in the service manual, specifically, step 11.

Sorry to bump this but I never got around to opening up my laptop again until today. I realized the CPU fan isn't spinning either, so I don't think it's just the monitor cable :(
