@Zlog - Thanks for looking into it. I have one set which works very well and for hours with my phone. I am testing with that same set of headphones.
I tried bt tethering too for 10-15 mins and it worked well. Maybe this weekend I will work with it for few hours and see if I am having same issue as the headphones. How long did you tethered using bt?
The reason I am trying to so hard for the headphones is because I want to hook up my M11x to my sound bar using this.

I just saw new drivers for the 335m on nvidias website since dell is still using 188 does anyone know if the new 197 for 335m are good for us i dont want to cause unneeded probs thanks
-
Joegreen, I am also trying to actual feedback on users if they have received good results with updating.
Not to sound selfish, but I don't want to try it first to end up with bigger problems. Hopefully someone has already tested it and has actual results.
Thanks. -
You have to disable Switchable graphics to run them (i.e. 335M only), but they do perform better then the stock or Dox drivers. I've gotten better performance out of DMC 4, SF 4, BFBC 2, etc. Look on the benchmark or Owner's Lounge threads to see comments from me or other people about them. I'm rarely away from an outlet for extended periods of time so I've gone with them.

This morning there was a update to windows on my m11x after the reboot my Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Drivers stopped working.
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
Has anyone else got this issue I am unable to resolve it -
Xzile609, late last night when I was about to shutdown, my windows did an update, but i did not know what it was. Luckily everything is working fine for me since I am using my M11x to connect to my wireless at work.

Anybody else have the problem with their right front grill light is considerably dimmer than the left side?
-
After this latest windows update my hibernate is broken. After coming out of hibernation it will give me a "windows did not shot down properly" dialogue. This has been happening since yesterday. I'm currently attempting to reinstall clean out some drivers, anyone else having issues like this? It's massively frustrating.
-
Ok well the answer to fix the Bluetooth issue is simple lol
Shut the laptop all the way off not just a restart and it works lol wow... -

Umm what's weird about it?
-
-
Oh... They changed by 0.1... it's probably due to the fact that you don't always get the exact identical score. My guess is that performance shouldn't change (significantly), since you only upgraded 2 to 4GB and the tests are actually measuring the performance and not how much memory you have.

This also happens to people when they "upgrade" ram on netbooks from 1gb to 2, etc.

i have had my m11x for about a month and a half. i absolutely love it. my only problem is that the front, right led light doesn't light up like it did when i first got my laptop. i think it might be dead. is this common? is it something i can get fixed? thanks.
-
I don't know if this is normal of not but in :C i have two options for program files? one says program files, the other says program filesx86, why do i have 2?
Nevermind, I realize it is for 32 bit. -
Oh.. How disappointing.. Im getting BSODs every time when loading windows on overclock mode enabled.. :-(
-
What processor? Mine's doing fine on su4100
-
I wish the fix was a simple reboot. Once the connection is dropped the BT is not even seen in the Device manager. It cannot be seen even if I reboot the laptop. I have to scan for hardware changes to find it and install the drivers. It works for 10-15 mins and the whole cycle repeats itself. So shutting the laptop all the way doesnt really helps. -

I just had similar problems with my bluetooth adapter. It fell off of device manager etc after working just fine. I downloaded the Bluetooth drivers from the dell support site - R226746.exe and after installing this my Bluetooth device is back again. I just did this so we'll see how long it holds. -
@Dolgon - I got the BT card replaced but I am still having issues with my BT headphones which work perfectly with my phone. The headphones start making crackling sound and then stop working after 15-20 mins (specially when I am playing any games). I did install those drivers couple of times.
Are you having issues when you use BT headphones? -
@apt2l - I also had problems related to my headphones.
Timeline - this is the first bluetooth item I have tried to pair with my m11x:
1) Paired headphones - worked fine
2) Started up an MP3 played fine through headphones for 30 seconds then swiched to speakers without warning.
3) At this point the bluetooth adapter had fallen off of device manager
4) There was a device showing up as an Unknown USB that I assume was the bluetooth adapter that could not get a good driver
5) Tried to delete the unknown item and let the system reinstall it to no avail.
6) Downloaded the drivers from Dell's site and reinstalled.
7) The unknown item is gone and the bluetooth adapter is back
8) Everything has been working fine for the last couple of hours. -
-
@Dolgon - Are the headphones working fine after the reinstall?

steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
Has any one whose been issued a replacement computer received theirs yet? I am supposed to get one, but they keep canceling and restarting my order. I've about had it with Dell.
-
@steven = azn had received his replacement.
-
So of course, they start over from scratch. I'm looking at may for a laptop ordered on 2/2. -
-
i had my (replacement) shipped out 1 week after calling in the first one, i'm just about to hit UPS to send back the first m11x. i'm thinking it's hit and miss when dealing with dell.
-
@Dolgon - I dont know why am I still having problems with the headphones. I already tried reinstalling the drivers but looks like I will be doing it again.
-
For those of you seeing dim AlienFX LEDs, can you please shoot me a PM with the location (e.g. right front speaker grill) and advise which colors (or all) and what failure mode (e.g. dim or off all together)?
If you call technical support, they can get you taken care of. Trying to understand a little more about this issue, so your PMs will help me with that.
Thanks. -
-
And here I see m11x's flying left and right to other people on the forum with new orders. -
Anyone notice their screen scanning? I see it especially playing games or watching video. I can see scan lines. Its not the video card. Outputted to an external monitor it looks fine. The first time I noticed it playing a game I thought it might be a bit of artifacting or something... I'm not sure if I'm explaining what I'm seeing well... not even sure if its a big deal, but I guess I would like to know if I may just have a bad panel or if anyone else notices something similar.
-
So...Here's a weird question. It's really windows 7 related, but it's on my m11x. I dunno what happened, but I can't access the shared files on my desktop from my m11x. Everytime I enter the login and password my explorer just crashes
.
Also, I've discovered i can access my shared folders in safe mode, but not in regular start up
-Oh weird, I added my own credentials and it works now lol. What the heck. -
good news!! i had tech support come to my house today!! they replaced the motherboard and the processor!! i can now overclock without any issues!!
-
-
Tried reinstalling the BT drivers. When I use the headphones they work fine when I am using it to listen to the music or watch youtube videos. It messes up while gaming. Any help on this issue would be appreciated greatly.

Hi Everyone,
First time posting in this forum, but I've been reading through the threads for the past few months now.
I recently picked up an m11x and may have messed something up.
I installed a set of nvidia drivers to try to play Metro 2033. After a bit I tried to reinstall the Dell drivers from their site and I can no longer use the FN + F6 key to switch between the integrated and discrete graphics. I do however have the taskbar tray icon I can click on to switch.
I'm hoping to fix this so i can reuse the FN short cut key. Does any one know what may have caused this or how to fix it?

* Windows version: Win 7 Home Premium. 64-bit
* Processor: SU7300
* Amount of memory: 4 GB
* HDD: 500 GB 7200 RPM
* What power state (saver, balanced, or performance)?: Balanced -
Sounds like the drivers cant tell that there's the FnF6 capability. You only get the taskbar switching when nvidia's drivers cant tell that there's a switch of sorts. Try to remove the driver via the device manager and reinstalling and rebooting.

At least I've proven that my 2 months in tech support has been for something
Enjoy your own AWESOME.

I've ran into another problem after reinstalling the stock display drivers.
When I boot the laptop using IGP the battery reads about 7 hrs on max. When I switch to discrete it drops to about 3 hours. This is all expected.
Now when I switch back to the IGP the time remaining on my battery remains at 3 hours. It seems like the discrete card is staying on and using the battery. Any idea why this is happening? -
The discrete isn't actually powered down, its just underclocked to 100mhz-ish. Thats why the battery life doesnt restore to IGP levels and thats why the fan wont shut up.
