Thanks to kopicha for the update... Dell posted 257.30 today for the 11xR2.

    Fixes and Enhancements:
    1. Updated Whitelist
    2. Display Driver Updates (guessing this might be the Intel side of the driver?)

    Lets see some feedback folks...

Is this better than the 258.96 drivers?

Well, from a personal standing, I always will try the dell driver over a NV release. Dell may add in specific tweaks for the platform. Only way to find out if its 'better' is to test it yourself and make the call. :)

I hope this fixes the BFBC2 multiple Direct 3D issue. I installed the 258's last night only to realize my fav game no longer works with multiplayer.

I would stick with 258.96 specially seeing that when the 257.30 was still "just" nvidia drivers they didn't do much good.

Well BFBC2 worked for 5 minutes and then my m11x R2 froze solid. This was also happening with the 189's but would randomly freeze between 5 minutes and an hour. I'm not overclocked. I'll disable turbo boost to see if that helps. Anyone else hard locking within 5-10 minutes of playing BFBC2? This happens on both of my R2 M11X's.

Okay disabling turbo boost (kills the frames per second in BFBC2) stopped me from locking up long enough to get kicked by punkbuster for the multiple display issue. So same problem exists here. I guess it's back to 189.69 for me without turbo boost enabled.

Anyone else here locking up in BC2 with turbo boost enabled?

    I have an i7, 4GB RAM, 160GB Intel G2 SSD.

Is that something they have a track record for, or supposition?

Drivers are exactly the same with the only difference being the WHQL certificate. It was nice of Alienware to release this as beta while it was going through the certification process.

The certification process is lengthy and costly but it is nice to see the fabulous support Alienware is giving its customers. I spent almost $4000 on my Vaio Z and I am envious of the support you guys are getting.

Drivers released by companies often have settings tailored to their specific systems. The drivers themselves however should be on par with any other, no modification done to the actual driver code, just settings being tweaked/tailored. Dell has a history of having a ton of settings adjusted, as far as I have seen though Alienware does not seem to do this to the extent that Dell does.

havent seen the same version directly from Nvidia. Probably this is an internal OEM release to makers only

You have to uninstall old drivers before installing this one correct? And do we use driver sweeper as well?

When we uninstall the old drivers, do we also have to uninstall the nvidia Control Panel? Or just the nVidia Drivers?

Technically installing over the current driver is supposed to work. However most of us would rather wipe the slate clean and remove all traces of older drivers with Driver Sweeper.

Uninstalling the drivers will remove the control panel.

Good luck with that. I did the same but the trail went cold but hopefully if enough people flag it they'll get around to fixing it.

I just bought an m11xR2 2 weeks ago...bought SC2..saw that it was running like sh*te on low settings...read some posts and see that it comes down to the nvidia drivers not supported by dell yet unless you edit your INF file? Am i right so far?? Well anyway I just installed the official dell drivers tonight and SC2 runs great on MEDIUM settings..I've not even tried High yet..so my question is before i go messing around in safe mode, editing inf files etc..should SC2 run on High settings if I was to try? i.e installing the unofficial dell 258.96 drivers?? thanks!
