This is a follow-up from my other post. I'm sure a lot of users who purchase the system from Dell Outlet received the regular a/c brick instead of the slim.

I have spent almost 2 hours on the phone with Dell Customer Service, Order Support & Alienware support. I have yet to resolve getting the correct a/c slim adapter.

I tried giving them the part number.

    &
They keep saying that no official slim adapter is available for the M11xR2. Is this true?

My R2 shipped with this listed in the order confirmation:

    -- Power Adapters --
    -- Alienware M11x 90W A/C Adapter
    -- [330-9945]

Now that's a different part number than the one you've linked above, but it's looks exactly like that.

If you google that part number you will get boat loads of evidence that it is what ships with the R2. Everything from people posting their configured purchases here on these forums to other sites that show ordered configurations.

The only people reporting that they aren't getting one of these are those who have ordered from Dell outlet.

Tell them to look up a FA90PE1-00

    or DP/N 0P2PCP

I have an R2 and slim ac adapter.

You might also want to emphasize that this is supposed to be a very portable system and that the loaf of bread sized power brick kinda flies in the face of that. It's supposed to come with a slim adapter. Period.

It took me a few calls to tech support, but they finally replaced the large power brick that came with my computer, with the correct slim adapter for my R2.

I think the best thing you can tell support is that your Order Details specifically state that you should have received the adapter:

    Dell Part Number: DJN5T
    Module,Adapter,Alternating Current,Flextronics,90W,3P,World Wide,Alienware

There should be no ifs, ands, or buts!! You received the wrong product. Make this very clear to whoever you talk to. Use your Order Details list as evidence.

I don't know if anyone has more info, but are P/N DJN5T & P2PCP interchangeable?

I requested a DJN5T and was sent a P2PCP. From all I've seen, I received the correct slim adapter that should have come with the computer in the first place.

I think those are Item numbers, not Part numbers. I'm not aware of any way to look up item numbers...

^ Oh ok, that makes more sense.

So you're saying DJN5T and P2PCP are both item numbers?

I gave the number DJN5T to tech support when requesting a new A/C adapter, and it worked just fine.

Where do you see any of those listed by Dell as a part number? I searched for all of them and found nothing...

I'm so damn frustrated. I have spent another 3 hours on the phone with every single department that you can think of and no resolution. I'm about to send this POS back for a refund. How hard it is to give me the correct A/C adapter? Is it worth to lose a customer over a a/c adapter?

Don't get me wrong. I like the laptop but i'm not going to carry a brick with me. What happen to customer satisfaction!

All the parts listed in this thread did not work or could not be found on the system.

See my post here - reference your last case#.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...placement-systems-warranty-repair-issues.html

you can go with either the customer service or the support option.

    1. Customer Service ( this is defined by Dell as 'Missing, damaged or incorrect orders, Lead time issues or Refund or exchange problems')

    2. Technical Support (this is defined by Dell as 'Products not functioning and Operating System problems')

Couldn't be found in the system? What does that mean? You linked the correct AC adapter in your first post -- it's right there on Dell's website, Part #330-4113. Don't give them Item numbers, all the AC wall adapters have a 7-digit part number in the format XXX-XXXX.

I don't know where you live, but I'm in North America and used the phone number from the Alienware contact page: (866)-287-6727. My phone call was less than 45 minutes and they didn't argue about the adapter at all. It would've been a 5 minute call if there weren't other issues that needed to be addressed.

The part number you listed in your OP is what worked for me. Just tell them that your current AC adapter isn't working and that you borrowed one from a friend with that part number and it worked.

Might be unethical but I paid good money for the laptop and wasn't going to put up with having a generic adapter for such a sexy laptop.

Also as Name User said what country are you from? I'm from the US myself and from what I understand the customer service experience here is totally different from what international customers have to deal with.

Better or worse in the US? Because the 15th person I spoke to yesterday was awesome provided me with a personal e-mail and number and replied e-mails within half an hour fixed every issue I had with orders and regularly updated me.
But the other 14 were terrible which is why I spoke to so many kept sending me back and forward so I made a complaint as the phonecalls will cost me a load as it is premium rate!

    I'm in the US.

I'm getting really frustrated. I have tried contact via e-mail and the Unresolved Issues form link posted in here and no response. Can someone with the m11xr2 take a picture of the power supply showing the parts number and details.

I tried calling again and same BS. They are saying that the Bulky A/C Adapter is the correct one yet I told them that I seen youtube videos of people unboxing the m11xr2 with the slip adapter. Seems like they don't care.

I just want a slim a/c adapter and end of story. I guess customer service is not a priority to them.
