A little confused on this one...
My audio on my R2 will work through HDMI, but not through the integrated speakers, or headphones.
My audio icon in the bottom right has a red x on it. While mousing over the audio icon in the start tray, it says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in".
The USB works on that board..so the connection ideally is good. And since audio works through HDMI, the audio chipset is good off the motherboard.
I've replaced the audio board itself (which has the headphone jacks and two USB ports)
If I look in device manager, there is no items that have a issue, or aren't installed.
Ive tried to uninstall all audio devices, and reinstall them with the newest drivers from dell.

    Nothing

I can say this one thing that no one hasnt confirmed, but I believe to be the issue...I have the wrong audio board. Where it will connect to the motherboard nice and snug, the screw holes do not line up. I've talked with other sellers and "oh yeah, that board will work with all the m11x's, R1, R2, R3"

Well....ok, my argument with that is this. The board will line up with the screw holes on a m11xr1 board, but not on the r2 board. It will connect to the motherboard fine, I just can't screw it down.

So, assuming the suppliers of the audio board are correct, and it will work, what could the issue be.

Assuming I'm right, it's the board....
