My first concern is that i'm not sure if I got the right power supply. Attach is the picture i just took of the power supply.

    The invoice has this listed.
Second concern is a really small gap on top right of the screen by the webcam. See screen shot.

Any advice is appreciated. Just want to know if this looks ok so I don't waste time calling Dell CS.

PSU should be fine for the R2 - it needs a 90W.

As for the gap, you can close the lid and apply a bit of pressure to the edge - my R1 had that as well, pushed down a bit and its fine. If it becomes worse you can contact support but I think its just the way the piece is designed. Nothing major but your call if you want to return.

They sent me the same AC adapter, but it's not the one that's in the description. I called to complain and they sent the slim one that it was supposed to come with (it's also lighter than that one).

This is supposed to be a highly portable laptop -- sending a bigger, heavier AC adapter is just stupid, not to mention you're entitled to the adapter that's in your order description.

The one you took a picture of does not match that description. That description is referring to a thinner, lighter AC adapter that has a blue light near the end (the end that goes into your m11x).

Either one will power the laptop just fine though.

I just called the alienware support line and they told me that the reason I have this power supply is because of the type of CPU my M11xr2 has. Is this true or bs? He said that the slim one would not work.

    The 11xR2 requires a 90w PSU.

The 11xR1 has a smaller, less powerful PSU which will not work with the R2.

It's total BS. They have a slim 90W AC adapter, which is what you were supposed to get. I have the R2 and was also given the adapter that's pictured in your first post. Like I said before, I called to complain and they sent me the slim one.

This is supposed to be a highly portable notebook, and the adapter they sent is:
    1. Bigger
    2. Heavier
    3. Not what your order describes

Here is the adapter that matches your order description: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=330-4113

Well Name, why dont you provide him with a part# if you have it - might make it easier for him when talking to support.

I was searching Dell for "90W" and it wasn't coming up. Then I remembered it only shows up if you type "90 watt" :p

Oddly enough, the fat adapter shows up for either one...

You know that's actually a decent price for an AC adapter. Just about all of the OEM or 3rd party adapters I've bought in the past as replacements were closer to $100.00.

Just wanna confirm that I have an R2 and one of the "thin" adapters with the blue ring in the cable. The picture shows the "regular" AC adapter from other Dell machines, that one is about twice as thick.

Here's what I can read on the adapter itself:

    ACDC ADAPTER
    PA-3E FAMILY
    MODEL: DA90PE3-00
    DELL P/N: WTC0V
    REF NO: ADP-90VH D
    INPUT: 100-240V (squiggly sign) 1.5A
    OUTPUT: 19.5V - 4.62A
    50-60hz

Has more numbers but I think that's just my serial number, hth

"I got my AC adapter replaced with the slim one with the LED on the tail end of the adapter. Item number is P2PCP Description: ADPT:AC:90W:FLX:3P:WW:M09:ANW"

I believe is what you're looking for. I used that part number to request the slim AC adapter after getting a generic one at first.
