    Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone has gotten either alienware command centre or alienware OSD to work on windows 8. I know its not officially supported but wanted to check to see if anyone has managed to get it working anyway.

    Thanks in advance!

With my M11x R3 volume control and wireless control work, just you lose the alienware overlays. No known way to make it work that I know of. Similar thing happens on my M17x. Alienware Command Centre needs .net framework 3.5 and 4.0 to be optionally installed by enabling it in the add windows features in control panel. Installing the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8

I can use it no problem.

laz91, I downloaded the Command Center from Dell downloads for the M11X R2 and it installed with no problem; however, there was no information for Alientouch. I installed the Synaptic drivers for the trackpad and got an error message saying the install failed and I should uninstall it. But when I restarted everything was working fine and the Alientouch in the Command Center was displaying information about the trackpad too.

I was going to look into the Synaptic driver failure a little more, but my hinge just completely failed and I'll have to get that sorted first. I haven't tried the OSD.

i'm really considering trying out windows 8 on mym 11x r2 (= the touchpad problem.. i had the same with windows 7 and did the exact same thing so i'm not so afraid about that tho. but the fact that the command center works is great news :)
