    Hello.
I've been trying to determine exactly which LCD screen I need to replace my current one.

I'm looking for the whole LCD assembly, I've tried searching with the parts numbers I can see but only come up with LCD cables and panel replacements, not complete assemblies.

There's about 3 or 4 different models and I don't want to buy the wrong one.
I've even tried looking on the Dell website with my service tag under "Original System Configuration" but only get panel replacement numbers there too.

    Any help would be great.

Here you go (courtesy of DellChrisM):

    * Soft Black WLAN LCD Assembly (Dell Part Number 40GMX)
    * Soft Black WWAN LCD Assembly (Dell Part Number 8JJT2)
    * Black WLAN LCD Assembly (Dell Part Number 4FFHC)
    * Black WWAN LCD Assembly (Dell Part Number R2Y7G)
    * Gray WLAN LCD Assembly (Dell Part Number YMM9R)
    * Gray WWAN LCD Assembly (Dell Part Number KKH9C)

These are complete assemblies with the new improved hinges. The only difference between the WLAN and WWAN models is that the WWAN models have two extra antenna wires.

It all depends on the color of your machine and wether you have WWAN or not. That should narrow it down to 1 option.

Hi, and thanks for your replies.

I should have been more specific.

I have a M11xR3. The above number are either for a R1 or R2 as the R3 did not come in grey.
The assemblies are interchangeable between the different models with one exception, the webcam will not work unless you have the correct model for your laptop.
I use the webcam for Skype so I need it to be working, hence I need to find exactly the right model.
I have Bluetooth and WiFi, but no mobile celluar.
    Soft touch black exterior.
So I need the model that has 3 antenna wires, not four.

    Cheers.

I guess the R3 is a bit different then. Don't take any chances and just call Dell support and get the correct part number from them.
