I have an M11x. My coworker has an M17x. During a recent attempt to breed an M15x we noticed that the one is, in fact, bigger than the other. In the interest of science, we felt we should document this phenomenon.

Nice! I've actually been looking for those exact pics. I wanted to see how the two matched up since I had ditched my R1 M17x and have been waiting for the R2. +1

    Awww :p

Looking at those pics i seriously doubt an M17x would fit on my desk with a mouse attatched.

I saw the M15x and M17x at Fry's and was surprised at how big the M15x was. I could hardly tell the difference between the two. The numpad on the M17x was the give away.

One is not smaller than the other, it's just further away :)
Like what they did on LoTR movies.

At least my M11x thinks it's bigger than it seems :)

    Nice pics btw!

Looks like you could actually fit 2 M11x's in the same space as one M17x... and possibly 4 if we allow stacking.

m17x AC adapter alone is half the size of m11x. :D

Btw note the hinge (yeah I had to say it) on m11x on 2nd pic. It's not closed properly.

That's so cute! A dad and his boy :)

That's about the first thing I did with my 1730 too when my 11x arrived but the m17/m11 makes for much better pics since they're scale models of each other!

Haha, same thing I noticed. Look at the difference in space between the M17x when closed and then look at the m11x :D

    That's what she says! :D

Anyway, M17x + M11x is the perfect combo, big daddy on my desk for home use, little one always with me when I'm on the run or abroad for work reason... the little one is definitely entertaining at the hotel with my Xbox controller :)

    LOL!! :D

It *was* a perfect combo for me before it started "hinging". But I agree on small+big lappy. I switched to Thinkpad for the portable one. For one, I find dock station incredibly convenient. Plus I play games mostly at home. I'm sure my boss at the university wouldn't be too happy with me doing a dungeon run, daily quest or a raid during the day. :D
