Hey guys something serious happened to my laptop today..

I upgraded to the New Bios A05 for my M11x R1..

AND when I restarted the installer when I came in.

My CPU USAGE was becoming off the charts around 40 - 90 % Usage

Its been Spiking around there and stuff and also My GPU Geforce is at a Constant 46 - 55 Degrees.

Whatever I had before (Bios wise) was much better if anyone has any Help or advice they could give me on this problem it would be GREATLY Appreciated.

    Try reinstall.
If that doesn't work, use the microsoft system restore, and restore to the point before you installed the BIOS.

A system restore isn't going to have any impact on the BIOS.

What does Task Manager show you is utilizing your CPU?

Task manager > Processes tab > click on the CPU column header so that it sorts processes by CPU utilization in descending order. Give us the name of the process(es) that have a high percentage other than System Idle Process.

    Should look something like this.

I've updated from A04 to A05 and I've not noticed anything like you've described. Follow Slickie's instructions as it does sound like you a load of chaff loading at start up that is just throttling your system.

Post your process list and we'll help trim out the rubbish so it's not acting quite so erratically.

    msnmsgr.exe 40k

    firefox - 50k

Listen.. all I see is that.. My FAN IS ON HIGH SPEED LOUD for the majority of boot up. In that time I only had Windows Live and firefox up. and my cpu usage was about 59% +

Until like 20 Minutes in.. Suddenly it stops.. and goes to low quiet fan speed and my CPU usage is normal again around 1 - 2 %.

Heres a picture of what I have in the processes.

PS: Sorry about freaking out its just I love my m11x so much and I hate seeing these things happen.

And the CPU usage in the picture isnt right it spikes so high in the beginning all the time.

I could restart and take another screenshot but again that would be pointless I took the screenshot after I read the post which was like 15 mins later lol

Hmm...maybe he needs to use that disk and do a factory reinstall?
    Hopefully that would fix everything...

we want the screenshot to give us an idea of what processes are running and thereby what you can kill as unecessary.

capturing the spike could be handy but not critical. can you stretch the task manager window to get in as much as possible, and sort the CPU column so the most resource hungry programs are at the top.

A reformat or restore point will not have any impact on the BIOS.

What we need from you with Task Manager is to click on the CPU column header so that it will sort processes by CPU utilization. You want to see the processes using the most CPU sorted to the top of the list. the screen shot you posted has processes sorted by Name.

For the last time, restoring hd isn't going to roll back the bios. Bios something that's in the mobo, not in the harddrive.

I doubt spike on the cpu has anything to do w/ the bios update anyways.

As much as a pain in the rear it is to reinstall apps, I suggest you take a moment and restore back to an out of box state using DataSafe Local. Doing so will tell you if you have a HW issue. I'm betting all your problems will vanish :)
