Hi Guys,
I own a M15x and may buy my wife an M11x to play wow on with me. Just need to know what to expect when playing wow on this machine, such as fps during populated area's, raiding ect.
Also does the M11x have any known issues, such as throttling.
If anyone here plays wow can you throw me some fps examples and settings that you use, low, med high etc etc.
Thanks.

Neither the R1 nor R2 will have any trouble with WoW. It should run just fine at high settings at native resolution. For issues, read through the sticky threads at the top of this forum. If you're getting an R2, make sure to read through the sticky about Optimus.

I managed to hold 40 fps during encounters in the end of wotlk 25 hard modes - i've since quit

first thing....install throttlestop....second thing....dont overclock your GPU (wow doesnt like it)
Thirdly, DO not run full on everything...
If you raid, you going to need to turn alot of stuff down, depending on 10 or 25 (10 maybe, 25 FOR SURE).
for the most part, 5 man heriocs are cake, 10m are decent, with exception of a few fights (Al'Kair, phase 3 sucks, Cho'Gall last phase sucks, Nefarian 3rd phase where the room fills up with lava...SUCKS....)
and btw......358 Holy Pally here =0 -
You might find you like its size and capabilities and keep the m11x and give her the m15x knowing you can always go back to the m15x when you really need the horsepower.
The m11x "floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee". -
Wait for the m11xR3, then get it. You'll have no problems running WoW.

on my r1 iv got everything maxed out at 1024x768 (how i play all my games) and just have shadows off. but iv also got mine pin-modded and gpu heavily overclocked, and i dont ever go below the mid 40's anywhere.

The M11x R3 has not been officially announced. We don't have official confirmation if it exists, when it will be released, or what the specs will be. It is currently vaporware. And people should not be making purchasing decisions based on vaporware.

the M11x can run WoW perfectly. You may have to tweak your shader clocks a bit to prevent freezes with the R2, but there's no reason why it shouldn't run okay in crowded areas.

kent1146, the m11x does weigh more however due to its shape it feels the same as the current crop of 13" laptops. My point regarding "float like a butterfly" was not to say it is the lightest. Some butterfly's are bigger and heavier than others.
I meant I move it around my house with ease. Its easier to carry around than my wife's 13" Toshiba, which is lighter.
Might buy an M11x need some advice
