Tried to search, but didnt have any luck. And yes, I know this is an Alienware thread, but figured you guys might have more knowledge of the i640um processor im interested in (its actually an Alienware motherboard).
I currently have a Inspiron mini 11z with the i3 330um processor, and and would lke to upgrade it to the I640um. I have found several sources of a used i7 640um processor (actally a complete M11z motherboard/processor), but am unsure if it will work.

Considering they are different shapes I do not think it will work. They are soldered to the motherboard on the m11x. Therefore it will not. On top of that the fan would have to be better to handle the added heat. Furthermore the alienware motherboard has the GPU attached also.
So in short, it will not work because you'd need to cut open holes on the side of your computer to fit the whole thing. -
Found out that it's soldered to the motherboard on the M11z, so I wont even bother trying to upgrade. Thanks..
