    Hi guys,

    I have the R2 running 257.3 drivers.

I have added Mozilla to the list in the Nvidia control panel and have it set to use the integrated graphics.

Despite this, when watching HD youtube clips, the GPU still turns on. Anyone know why???

See if white listing C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugin-container.exe does the trick. It's working for me with the 258.96 drivers. Using the Optimus Test Viewer that's what showed up as utilizing the GPU during Flash video playback in FF.

    Unfortunately that didn't work either.......

Seems as though there is a bug with this whitelist and that something else is overiding the settings.

That, or there is something else that Mozilla runs when HD clips are played.

Try the 258.96 driver. I'm able to force IE and FF to the IGP with no problems. Make sure you uninstall the current driver, boot to safe mode, run Driver Sweeper to clean out all traces of Nvidia stuff, reboot and install the new driver following the instructions here in this forum.

    Hi everybody!!

Perhaps best solution is using Chrome, because Mozilla uses flash instead of H264 when surfing Youtube. I have 258 drivers and there is no problem in using integrated when I play a video in youtube, I haven't done anything special.

Whenever I see youtube vids I like to use chrome it seems lighter and faster than mozilla with youtube.

I have been using m11x-r2 for two weeks and I have to say that is the most versatile laptop I have ever use.

    Superb.

Installed the new drivers and now all works a treat and I have complete control over the programs that utilise the GPU!

    Thanks

    :)
