Basicly what tittle says, he got mad and punched my m11x so hard that he broke both hingles.. Basically, the plastic which holdes them on place, which is again back of the LCD (plastic)... Sooooo, I have not been able to find a replacement, what to do? The laptop it self is working perfectly fine, but I can't find any partstore for this model...

Make him pay for it? 3 olds have jobs right?

Really though, you should be able to repair it your self.

There is a video on youtube about m11x hinge repair, follow that video and it should give you a plan to fix it with a few hours of work.

I would rather buy a new lid, you need some free time to do this.. But I'll take a quick look now.

You should be able to apply for a free hinge update if you haven't already done so :).

Seems easiest to just contact Alienware. Everyone, even the out of warranty M11xs are in for a free hinge replacement.

You haven't lived until you've punched an expensive laptop as hard as you can.

Even if he sat the laptop on fire, I woldn't do that. ;) That's my family.

I have not done that actually, I can try that :D

    Photos are on their way
    :)
I'll check that as suggested earlier.

He actually did aim for that duck.

    Yeah, I'll try this
The story is real. However, I can upload some pictures and going to contact dell now.

One of the reasons why I have to laptop is because he uses it. Or I would sell it for looong time ago, I have in a away, given it too him, but when it's broken down, it is still mine, if you understand :D

EDIT: can't upload pictures, imageshack.us refuses. However, I'm chatting live with a ailenware dude :D
    - ohhhhhhhh, nvm, they could not help me.. Have to call dell now.. Still loving my ASUS support..

Even better, they don't have norwegian phone support, ohh well. I'm about to send a email but they want to install a activex on my laptop 'to get my system information'.. And yes, there isin't a 'skip' button.

started up the broken beast and got thorugh the support :)
