I have a Alienware M11X R2 laptop, and when I boot it up normal and get to the log-in screen, I can see my background and move the mouse around for about ten seconds, then the screen starts to flash off/on constantly and none of the users show up.

I don't think it's a hardware problem, because I'm able to boot it up in security mode, and it works just fine and I'm able to pick a user, sign
    in and use the computer.

I've currently tried updating my graphics drivers and BIOS, but that didn't work.

Any idea on what I can do to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

and if that works i'd run a couple of windows update/restart cycles before attempting driver installs, verifying it's the correct driver and not for, say, a desktop (i noticed that geforce.com auto-detects my gpu as the desktop model driver).
