NVIDIA DRIVERS 266.58 WHQL

Why thank you.
-
hope it's fix something. thanks for the reminder.....
-
Thank you for the update.
I hope the overall gaming performance increases in comparison to 260.99 !
EDIT: Both WEI scores for my Processor and Memory (RAM) decreased from 5.8 to 5.5 after updating... -
Thanks for the update!
-
-
Well... I just played Biohazard 5 and the gameplay seems smoother and I hope that I am right.
The thing that bothers me the most is how low my WEI changed to...
I am actually thinking of going back to 260.99 at the moment.
Before:
Processor: 5.8
Memory (RAM): 5.8
Graphics: 3.6
Gaming Graphics: 6.5
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
After:
Processor: 5.5
Memory (RAM): 5.5
Graphics: 3.3
Gaming Graphics: 6.5
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
I don't think installing this graphic driver is necessary as it doesn't really improve graphic performance..?
New in Release 266.58
Performance
Increases performance for GeForce 400 Series GPUs in several PC games vs. the latest Release 260 drivers.
Improves performance in Final Fantasy XI on GeForce 400 Series GPUs.
Visual Quality
Adds ambient occlusion support for one of the most popular games of the year: Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. Ambient occlusion improves the quality of lighting, shadows, and depth perception in many parts of the game. Learn more on GeForce.com. -
how are you guys getting 3.6 on the aero graphics WEI?? mine won't go any higher than 2.8. overclocked and latest drivers all installed etc. Am i missing something?
-
Ok I surrender! I tryed to convince Nvidia Company to fix the The Witcher's problem (the one that gives the message " Warning! Minimum system requirements not met!"), but I've been alone in this fight so the Nvidia's guys aren't giving a fu%# to what I ask to them.
Well good luck to any of you who are trying to play The Witcher in a decent way with the new Nvidia drivers, at least I tryed to resolve this. They EVEN replied me.
About the other games, I don't tested this new release with them, sry, but thanks to post it here anyway...
EDIT:
Ah! Btw, this s*it driver isn't allowing Batman: Arkham Asylum to reconize the Geforce GT 335M, so I can't change the anti-aliasing configuration in it. Another great news! Nvidia Optimus is giving a great headache, they created a technology that themselves aren't knowing how to make it work correctly. And guys, I tryed to control myself so I wouldn't tip so angry, but its annoying me a lot and I couldn't =].
BY NOW, I think the best driver for me is being the old 258.96 (unfortunately...), which don't allow me to play games like Dragon Age and Mafia II.
And I've been waiting so long for this driver to release...in vain. -
I dont see how installing a video driver would change the processor or RAM score in WEI. Maybe you had programs running inthe background when you redid the assessment.
For the "Aero" performance, you may have to change the preferences when running on the intel graphics. I set mine to the max battery mode, and i know i lost at least .5 from that score. It is currently at 2.8, but i never feel that i need more intel graphical power. -
-
From my point of view, I think the overall game performances are "smoother".
I think I need to test out with more games later. -
When I put 4x anti-aliasing in the game with the 260.99 one, it magically gives me the black screen with background sound (even if I put 2x anti-aliasing, what I wouldn't want to do anyway). But NOW, if I put 8X+ anti-aliasing (Nvidia Control Panel), the game runs, but not so smoothly. It is frustating... -
Wow, is true the WEI scores, mine where:
Processor: 6.1
Memory (RAM): 5.9
Graphics: 3.3
Gaming Graphics: 6.5
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
Now are
Processor: 5.2
Memory (RAM): 5.2
Graphics: 3.1
Gaming Graphics: 6.5
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
I know is just a score, but I still don´t get why would lower them so much.... -
I just hope that the overall gaming performance is better...and hopefully the battery life. -
I know windows experience scores mean sod all but i really want my aero graphics one to be above 3 like it should be and everybody elses is. My cpu and gpu are max overclocked. so is there some basic windows setting or power property or something i can change just the sake of getting that one score up??
-
I'm not too happy with the 266.58 i just installed. Output on my Plasma was messed up and when i finally got i working again nvidia control pannel crashed, still can't find a way to get powerdvd10 to recognize the 335(whitelist does not even give you the option to switch from intel)
Performancewise i see a significant improvement with Darksiders (had massive problems before) and a noticeable improvement with medal of honor (ca 2-5fps) which makes it now playable. Tried nothing else so far.
I7-4GB-500HDD nothing optimized 260.99 were the drivers i had before
----- tried NFS Hot Pursuit. Was unplayable before - at high speeds fps went down below 20. Now they don't drop below 25. Not too bad at all. -
Perhaps Microsoft adjusted the WEI scores to reflect today's standards? Isn't there a ceiling as to how high each category can get? If so, then they have to periodically lower previous scores to correlate with newer video cards, RAM, etc. Otherwise, eventually, everyone would be getting perfect 10s on everything.
-
I got my scores back, all I did was run the WEI with TS on, still, the Graphics score is still 3.1, it was 3.3 and I have seen a lot of people with 3.8...
-
Has anyone with freezing problems noticed a difference with these drivers?
I'm guessing not... they sound like just the 266.33 drivers all over again. -
My WEI is way low... how can you force the Nvidia card to run on WEI rather than the Intel video card?
-
I think I'll wait and see if this solves the freezing issue before I decide to remove the modded 266.44 I have going.
-
Actually my WEI numbers are better with the new drivers
Processor: 6,6
RAM: 5,5
Aero: 2,9 (+1)
GPU: 6,6 (+1)
HDD: 5,9 -
anyone know where to the find the new drivers for the Intel HD graphics.. just so i now have both cards upto date..
thanx!
edit. i went to nvidia.. i did the "Option 2: Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products." it came with new drivers for my intel HD graphics card.. but they call them GeForce/ION Driver v266.58.. is this the same thing???? -
Here's my WEI:
Base score 4.6
Processor Genuine Intel(R) CPU U7300 @ 1.66GHz 4.6
Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB 5.6
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M 6.5
Gaming graphics 6.5
Primary hard disk 5.9 -

I play Dawn of War 2 on ultra settings with 10-15 more fps
looks soo smooth now in 40-60 fps in game(multiplayer). On SC2 I am also getting higher fps. Oh, and PB is working fine. Played 4 matches of Bad Company 2 with no problem.
-
GTA4 still doesn't see the video card with this release. Anyone have a solution for this?
-
any r1 owner tested this driver yet? Just want to make sure that everything are fine after updating

STILL getting BF2142 PB kicks.

Working well with an R1 running Discrete:
Base score 4.6
Processor Genuine Intel(R) CPU U7300 OC @ 1.73GHz 4.6
Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB 5.4
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M 6.6
Gaming graphics 6.6
Primary hard disk 5.9 -
THANKS!
On my R1 @ 1.6Ghz I upgraded from the 260.99 to these and got constant 60fps on ultra in wow. Up from 45-50. I will test others like Black OPs and other questionably playable games in the near future with these. But so far they are looking up. -
How to install this on the R1 ??
It seems to be no hybrid driver
Will there be a moddified one like the working 260.99? -
Hi, everyone.
Long time reader, first time poster. Just giving my input on these drivers. It may be a case specific to only me, but installing these drivers cause problems on Source games on Steam. (I used the default factory drivers before this)
First of all, Steam does not recognize the 335M for any of my games (where a little notification pops up saying that I am using an unknown GPU or driver). Although this did happen before installing the drivers, they didn't recognize the Intel GPU, not the Nvidia one.
On top of this, Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike: Source, etc. cannot be set to 'High' detail for 'Shadow Detail' despite being available before updating the driver. A worse case is Left 4 Dead 2 where I just crash as soon as I load a map (APPCRASH: nvd3dum.dll sometimes, other times with no message at all). For other games, such as Amnesia, they ran fine, oddly enough.
I am pretty sure this is an issue with the Nvidia drivers because when I reverted back to the default Nvidia drivers (but retaining the latest Intel ones), all of my Source games ran fine with 'High' available for all settings.
I am also starting to suspect the method in which I installed the drivers. I first cleared out Nvidia and Intel -> reboot -> Install Intel -> then Nvidia drivers.
Anyways, this became too long of a post. I'm just putting this here to let people know that they are not alone if their Source games are not working with these drivers. -
left 4 dead 2 just crashed whenever I try to enter the private server...oh yeah... this goes for titan quest too. the screen just load and exit to window without any pop screen to tell you what is going on....All my games are on steam too..
-
I think I will stop to buy games from Steam...
-
Is not always, but from Fallout 3, Plants Vs Zombies, etc. all do the same...
And about the new drivers, I was having a launch problem with Fallout 3, when I launched it, I always got a windows error, then launching it again, all perfect, and that was ALWAYS, now with the new drivers, is gone, It works at the first launch.... -
Since updating from 260.99 I cant launch Civ V in DX 10 mode before ran like a dream launches and plays the intro but then crashes will be reverting back to the previous driver as my M11x R2 was built for Civ V.
-
-
Not 100% sure its the driver but MW2 and Blackops both seem to be choppy/laggy after the update. More so MW2, especially when sprinting.
I tried fresh install using driversweeper and tried optimizing, just cant seem to get it running smoothly... can anyone confirm this?
m11r2 - i7 -
I wan't able to get black ops running well with previous drivers, but today the game just totally froze on these new ones.
-
Was the last driver from nvidea 260.99? That one seemed solid for playing CoD compared to this one... On a side note, it seems more OC friendly though..
-
-
-
Gonna install this on my OC i7 R2, my current WEI scores are
Processor: 5.7
RAM: 6.00
Aero Performance: 2.7
Gaming Graphics: 6.5
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
Let's see how it changes. -
Alright, ready to install kinda scared from all these posts o.o
-
Nothing changed?
-
Did you try mw2 by chance?
-
I see they fixed only the windowed mode PB Screenshots in 266.58.
The full screen version still will not work on Windows 7 x64.
