So I attempted to use the drivers on my R2 from the Nvidia site but it doesn't go through "Driver could not recognize system" or something like that. Do I download the link that Kopicha posted?? Will that work for my R2?

You need to edit the INF per Naut's instructions or download the premodified driver that Kopi posted

I am having nothing but problems with this beta driver...

Starcraft 2 only display the mouse cursor.
Left 4 Dead 2 black screen...
    Team Fortress 2 black screen...

Only positive i have about this one, is Mafia 2 can be played full screen... but too many negatives than positive, so i am rolling back to my previous driver!

You need to go to the screen resolution option in the windows control panel.

in the option Multiple display select: show desktop only in 1, if 1 is your laptop display.

to get to screen resolution just right clic in the desktop and choose screen resolution.

the Image I posted is one I found on the net because my windows is in Spanish.

In the NCP, is there an option to force "TV detection" or something similar?

Otherwise, click on that display (in the windows 7 panel) and there should be a "remove display" option.

Since upgrading from the latest official dell driver to 260.63, all of my games now just show black screens, although the sound can still be heard. So far I've tried COD4, Far Cry 2, Crysis, Half Life 2 and Portal. All blank screens.

I've checked and double checked all the optimus settings, and they are set appropriately.

Apart from going back to the old drivers, with the less than desirable optimus, I don't know what else to try.

I have been doing some experiments and this is what I can advise to those who claim the drivers dont work for them. Due to the new installer it's kind of iffy. thou i still cant really figure why. but the drivers definitely works without issue and in fact its performing pretty good. does perform better than previous drivers except i do get report that BFBC2 dont like this driver. But its not an issue really since this driver still does not fix the PB issue thus BFBC2 players shouldnt even be touching this set.

do try to install your Nvidia driver more than once. Maybe for the first installation use custom and do a clean install. Then follow by the next install using the recommended updating driver option. If still dont work well then try installing using the updating option. Make sure you reboot after each installation before trying anything. If the installation goes well I dare to say this definitely runs better than 258.96 in general.

For now I have reinstalled the 258.96 drivers, which are working fine for the time being. I've not given up yet though!

I'll try your suggestion kopicha. I can't see why my machine would have such a problem with proven working drivers. I guess I'll give Driver Sweeper another go also.

    Many thanks.

Mmm, there is a problem that windows detects multiple screens, may be the games are being displayed in a screen that doesnt exist?

I dont have my M11x at work but I will test latter, I think you could try to disable multiple desktop options in windows control panel

Just checked and I do have 2 displays showing. I set the laptop to primary, then disabled the 2nd in the device manager.

Before all this I did a clean install, then upgrade install.

Still no joy. I feel like I must be missing something obvious, but I just can't get this working.

I had to do an upgrade install twice for this driver to work. It was been working great since.

@All - I utilized these drivers for almost a week. Tested in these games.. Here are my results

Just Cause 2 (small increase) .5-1.5 fps increase from 258.96.
BFBC2 (decrease) 2+ decrease and less smooth gameplay from 258.96 (and i played and played to confirm this)
COD MW2 (equal results, net result equal no difference)
FARCRY2 (equal results or very close.. within .5 of each other)

So, I switched back to 258.96 for now.. which seems to be my favorite drivers so far. R1, su4100, etc..

***the fine print, these are just my findings, you may find different results, if so please post your findings so the group can benefit***

Thanks for the mod. I installed and the driver seems to be working. What I don't have is the 3D vision tab in the driver. Did you managed to get the 3D vision to work as well?

R1. R2 uses Optimus, so FN+F6 never worked on those. The Binary GFx Fn button was only present on the R1 units.

R2 can use modded Verde drivers, and still mantain Optimus usability. R1 is basically screwed (that's what I think).

I tried these drivers and works exactly the same for me like the 258.96, except for WoW where i noticed a drop of 2-4fps. So im back with 258.96 :D
