    Hello everyone.

To make a long story short I was trying to install linux into a usb drive and I screwed up my windows, I proceeded to delete the partitions and everything since I couldn't get my restore partition working. I reinstalled windows 7 clean from the disk that we got with laptop.

I am back up and running and all seems to be working without any problems. I would like to know if anyone is able to make a restore image via respawn or a ghost image or any kind of image from a out of the box new alienware m11x. Let me try to explain this. I am going to buy a ssd drive here shortly and what I want is to be able to use whatever image backup i receive from an m11x to ghost it back into that drive and when I click power the m11x greets me with that hey, how are you that we all got when we first power up our new baby.

I got an Alienware M11x system and I have a copy of windows 7 home 64bit.

I have looked in the internet and in the forum and I could not find a download of an image. I also called alienware and all they could do was help me put the system back via the dell driver website and so forth which I already did on my own.

Thanks for reading my long post and hope someone can help me.

I too would also like to know this.

I recently did a fresh install and it was such a hassle. I had to find all the drivers and at first the WiFi card didn't work. So I had to find a ethernet cable and etc. Just a hassle.

Is it possible to be able to restore so when you power up a fresh start it's like a brand new machine straight from dell?

I used that and is good. However my goal is to have an image of the drive so that when I load it it will partition the drive and load the restore or spawn or whatever alienware loads on that other partition and I can have my backup for future mishaps.

your restore partition is unavailable because you overwrite the MBR when you did the dual boot so theres no way to recover that partition again =(

I know this. My hard drive partitions are gone, deleted, all is one single drive now. This is the reason I need for somebody kind enough to ghost image their hard drive so I can put it back.

    Thanks.
