Hey sorry if this is a common thread but using search didn't really come up with much, I'm trying to remove the back panel off my M11x but the screws feel like they are glued in, I'm using a Phillips 0 screwdriver and they won't budge, it's getting close to stripping them out but I need to open the case to clear out excess dust as it's a bit overdue, I've used a bit of compressed air on the fan but I'm worried thats just blowing more dust deeper into the case rather then cleaning it out. Anyone have any advice or tips to getting the panel off or cleaning in general? Thanks!

*Edit - also anyone have recommendations on a good cooling pad for the m11x? The one I'm using currently is crap and my temps are starting to get pretty high.

You need soft brush to clean dust particles but I dont have much information about cooling pads.

mine opens like a charm with PH0 screw head... sounds really weird, never heard of them being glued in... possibly some tread lock, but that comes off quite easily, certainly not to strip the screws... apply a fair bit of pressure from above and try going at it softly... or use one of those drills, with torque setting on it where it spins over at certain value, works on my sink works on my gadgets in moving the screws if the chinese guy assembling it was more ripped than i am... it just sort of punches it and shakes the screw to undo rust/grub whatever... can't suggest anything more really... possibly try tapping over the screw driver gently with a hammer, i know it sounds brute, but it can help to budge the screw free... cause if you strip the screws it will be quite a pain in the *ss to get into the laptop.

if you clean the heatsink regularly, you just need to place the laptop on some sort of stand to allow for air circulation, i got a cooling pad but i never plug it in, as it is enough to just clean out the dust now and again rather than to listen to extra fans blowing air for no actual noticeable decrease in temperatures, unless you game with back panel off on a cooling pad or blow hair straight through the bottom vent it doesn't really have much of an effect over just putting it on a stand to let the air go in the bottom went freely...
