Hi, I have some small annoying problems and questions I was hoping someone here could take a look at for me! :) M11X R2 i5

    1) Say I am watching a movie on the M11X. If I check the battery indicator before the movie, it might say 3 hours. 1 hour into the movie it will still says 3 hours, and if I press FN + F4 to change screen bightness, then it says 2 hours. So the laptop seems to go into this weird mode when I don't click on something for a while, it snaps out of it by using commands. Some times it won't start .exe files aswell. It will load the program forever, if I press to change brightness, then it opens.

    2) If I download something on the M11X the laptop will freeze after about 10 mins. I can't update Bad Company 2 for example, because it will freeze halfway throught it. Same things happens with torrents.

    3) I get random Power State Failure BSOD, happens maybe once a week, not that annoying, but something common about the m11x that gives this BSOD?

    4) I really love the fan controlling feauture in hwinfo32, so I can turn the fan down a little to avoid it beeing so loud when gaming in library etc. Is it dangerous for my GPU to be around 82C while gaming mafia 2 for example?
The CPU is at like 75C.

Thank you so much if you wanna help!

for numbers 1, 2, 3 call dell for sure

as for 4, nvidia chips are made to withstand 110c so as long as you can stand the heat on your palms its not dangerous, also if you are decreasing the fan power and your temp is at 82c thats fairly good as mine gets around the same without tampering with fan control

Go through and check the power settings and look for things like: turn off the hard drive after x amount of minutes, etc.

Also, I'd check for malware and/or viruses. They can definately make computers do funny things. You might also want to test the memory for errors as well as the hard drive.

Thanks for the answers guys! :)

    Only have this problem left:
If I download something on the M11X, the laptop will freeze after about 10 mins. I can't update Bad Company 2 for example, because it will freeze halfway throught it. Same things happens with torrents. I have to manually hold the power botton to shut the computer off.

I guess it may be the wireless card that is bad, maybe I should try a different/older driver for it or something?
