What's a good notebook bag to use to carry around the m11x? Ideally I'd want something with handles, a shoulder strap and a pocket with enough room to store said strap, the AC adapter, a mousepad, a mouse and a pair of earbuds. I did a search on Amazon for '12" notebook bag' and couldn't find much. I use a Sumdex bag for my current system and would check their offerings, but their site seems to have be hacked at the moment.

edit: I found this case via google. Any comments on it?

I'm going to be purchasing a sleeve from Amazon for the M11X and then place it in a 17" laptop backpack with all my accessories since over the shoulder bags are a PAIN.

Keep in mind alot of these 12" bags don't have enough room to fit all the accessories, so if you don't find a suitable recommendation, perhaps you could look @ a sleeve + any 15-17" backpack to guarantee everything fitting and not being squished/cramped (putting pressure on your screen/keys).

Hmm... Good point. I was hoping to find something nice and small that I could carry around on campus. My backpack is a bit cramped; I'd be afraid of my poor m11x getting crushed in there.

    Zerg Messenger Bag from Razer.
It's a bit too big, but it fits all sorts of accessoriec like external dvd, cables, HDD etc.

Or from MobileEdge, but it only fits the laptop..

The mobile edge fits more than just the laptop - I carry my charger, mouse, external DVD player and a couple of external hard drives without issue.

How the hell did you manage that? I can barely fit my powersupply on the outside...

Edit: nevermind, I meant another bag from mobile edge :3

No prob. I was worried when I ordered that might happen, but I can get everything I need in, and it really protects the laptop, snug compartment that fits it perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestions. The Belkins are nice, but I don't like how the strap isn't removable. The Sumdex that I have right now rocks and I think I'll purchase the 13.3" model for my m11x.

I went with the Alienware neopreen sleeve. It's very tight though, and getting the M11x into the case is tricky sometimes but it's doable. It feels very sturdy though, and would definitely cushion the fall if I dropped my M11x.

Do you mean the cloth sleeve that it comes with? Or the neoprene one you can get?

I have that sleeve, so I can check for you later. I had the same concern at first, however the bag is designed so well, you don't need it. The compartment the laptop goes it is soft and padded, and fits the m11x perfectly. I don't use that case at all now, at least with this bag. Maybe in the future if I need to use a different bag, so I'll keep it around.

I'll be glad to check when I am at home.

I can take a couple pics of the bag, and how the laptop fits if you want also. The laptop compartment is separate and the m11x fits nice and snug.

That sounds great, really appreciate it....I'll check back in later this evening to see if you had a chance to check...I may end up doing the same thing as you with the sleeve...wish now I had waited to buy it! Thanks again.

Np - it may be tomorrow, if that is ok, depending on what time I get home tonight.

I felt the same way - but I figure I've got the sleeve lying around if I ever need to use a different bag, or something.

    I'm using this: Sumdex, Inc.

and its perfect. Was about 50 bucks at the local MicroCenter. I also have the neoprene sleeve which fits snug in the laptop compartment.

    Ok, update.

The mini-messenger bag has a compartment in the back for the laptop. It's divided in two areas - one with a velcro strap going over the top to keep the laptop snug, and one that is a little bigger without a strap. It fits fine in the area without the strap with the sleeve. It was a little snug in the area with the strap, so I didn't force it, I don't want to stretch it out or anything.

I personally use the area with the strap for my m11x and the other area for my portable DVD drive. You could reverse this and be just fine. There is a zipper that goes over the top to keep it all inside.

That said, I don't think you really need the sleeve with this bag, but yep, it would work.

Pics coming when I get a few more mins.

Thanks infoghost, that's probably the direction I'll go.

squeeb, the backpack you suggest looks like a good option if someone wants a backpack instead of a case, thanks...btw, that model lists for $37 on amazon, with free two-day shipping.

I am currently using the Oakley Checkpoint Computer Bag ( Oakley CHECKPOINT COMPUTER BAG | Oakley Store. I like how its a checkpoint friendly bag (very helpful when you fly a lot) but at the same time has a sleek shape and very lightweight. In addition to my M11x, the interior panel houses my iPad, a 4-port USB hub, a HDMI cable, and an external portable DVD drive. The exterior panel has enough space to accommodate the M1x AC adapter, iPad charger, earphones, iHome IH79 (portable rechargeable speakers), and Oakley sunglasses (in the front water bottle compartment). The website shows the price to be $75 but i was able to buy this bag for $56 in an Oakley Vault store.

Just received my bag today and it's perfect! It's just right for the M11x and there's enough room leftover a mousepad, power adapter, earbuds and a small gaming mouse (Logitech G9 in my case). Here's a link to the product page for those who may be in the market for one.

    Like this thread!

I just ordered the Portfolio Case and it arrived a little bit before the R2. It's a great little case, I just wish it had more room for the power adapter. I'm not used to a machine having this much battery life, there's some residual paranoia when I'm out and about (run my own shop) and I don't have the cord.

Looking at a bigger bag because of that, and maybe just a spare AC adapter at work and I'd be all set.

This is a shot in the dark, but anyone have a bag that they also share with camera gear? I'm looking for one that is portable, will fit under a plane seat, hold the M11x, 3 lenses, one body(T2i) + lens, and some batteries.

I ride my bicycle everywhere so I use the official Alienware Notebook sleeve by mobile edge inside a Chrome shoulder messenger bag. The Chrome bag is completely water proof and can really take punishment. I can fit the laptop/sleeve, logitech N315 portable lapdesk, a wireless mouse, however many cables (including the charger), a spare external HDD, a Nalgene bottle, 2 books, and my bike tools.

I'd stay away from that portfolio. It's pretty thin and I don't think it offers much if any real protection, and you can't fit much in it. It does look cool though.
