I already have a cooling pad for my desk, but I want something small and light to use when I have the M11x on my lap. Especially in the summer, it becomes unbearably hot after about 30 minutes of use. Can anyone recommend a nice, compact pad? Thanks!

Well, it's not huge compared too the M11x. There would be a good inch or two to the sides of the M11x though. It would be big enough to sit on the center mat in the middle of the mat though. I would feel comfortable using it however I can understand the desire to not have a ~15" mat for a 12" laptop.

    The dimensions of your laptop are 11.25” x 9.19” x 1.29”
    The dimensions of the mat are 12" x 15.1" x 2.2"

The thing about this mat that makes it better than others is that, on your lap, most mats have fans that pop directly out of the bottom with stand-offs so they don't really help that much when it's on your lap whereas this mat, as you can see in the picture, has the fans in the middle so they are always open and actively cooling. Mucho bueno :)

This is the perfect size for the M11x and you can place the fan directly under the vent. I've reduced my gaming temps by 5 degrees on average :0)

Do you use it on your lap or on a desk? I want something for my lap. Does this pad work for that?

The chillmat isn't that much bigger than the m11x.

The HeatDefense Pad doesn't work too well. It's kind of just there.

Staples has the Targus Lap Chill Mat on sale for $29.99 right now, so I went with that one. It is definitely bigger than the M11x, but not too big. I think it fits rather nicely and I'm happy with it so far. I haven't even plugged the USB fan in yet. Just using the pad to get the laptop off my lap has made a significant improvement by itself. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I wish some company would make something specifically for the M11x that's small enough to attach and leave it. I especially want something like that to protect the fragile rear rubber feet with something.

Awesome! I'm glad you opted for that one. It's a great mat and you won't be disappointed :)
