Hey guys ,I was just gifted the Neoprene Alienware Case. I was able to fit my sports buds and Razer Tron Mouse. Though I was hoping to be able to fit my AC,it was sadly too heavy. My next option is a slim AC Adapter. I'd like to know which ones work and if anyone has tested one. Preferable I'd like not the universal 90-watt but just one that works with dell parts. :)

I found this one though it doesn't mention if Alienware's work with it. BARNES & NOBLE | ReVIVE Series Ultra-Slim 90W Laptop AC Adaptor with Smart Trip-Volt Surge Protection for Dell Inspiron / Latitude / Studio / Precision / Vostro and XPS Series Laptops by Accessory Power

That adapter looks just like one of the Dell ones I have. If the wattage and the plug fit, you'll be fine. Judging from the description, it will work. Alienware and regular Dell use the same plugs now for a few years.

I use a standard dell 65watt auto/air travel charger. Its half the size of the stock r1 charger and can use car outlets too.

Not sure it would work on anything else but the r1 though since its only 65 watts.

Thanks! Guess I'll buy this and report how it works.

Yep my R1's charger is only 1/2 the size of my R3's and neither are "slim". 65w vs 240w though so i don't think the R1's charger will work on anything else.

Don't skimp when it comes to AC adapters. Always, always go with an OEM one. I made the mistake of buying an aftermarket one that claimed it was for the exact model laptop I was using. It decided to melt itself until it started smoking profusely. Good thing I was home and could smell the burning plastic before it set the house on fire.

If you don't particularly care about the aesthetics of the AC adapter, Dell sells a generic Dell AC adapter on their store site which claims it is for the M11x. I'm personally trying to find out how to get another original slim adapter that came with the system. Dell isn't at all useful for that problem though...

I have the OEM ,its a slim!? The size isn't bad but there's no way I'd consider it a slim unless compared to an M17/18X or an Asus G-Series AC. Like I said in the OP, I'm looking for something that fits in the Neoprene Case.

Cannot speak for R3 as I have an R1 but my spare power supply is from an old dead Dell E1705. To expand your searching options you can try including other models as some of them have some thin power supplies avail.

Just make sure plug, polarity, and V are same.

My adapter fits in the neoprene case, though I choose not to since it stretches it out a bit. I just keep some cleaning cloths, a pair of earbuds, flash drive, a couple SD cards, and an iPod/iPhone cable in it. You're not going to find much else that's a lighter weight, and if there is...I'd question its quality.

The case I think of as just something to protect the laptop while its in my larger pack, not a viable bag to pack all my gaming things into.

I have a Dell 65W slim adapter at home and tried using it with my R3. I got a message when booting up that it detected a 65W adapter and stated it would decrease the charge time and adjust the power settings. Should I be worried about this adapter damaging my R3? The 65W is a Dell OEM adapter.
