Just received my first alienware ever (never thought I'd buy one of these).

This may sound like a really stupid question, but where is this turbo button I keep reading about. I looking in the manual and I couldn't find the info, and I read that it was just above the keyboard, but the only thing there is the alienhead power button.

ok, so it just automatically does it now?

I installed a new bios, uninstalled Mcafee, and installed windows security essentials.

Is there anything else I need to do to increase performance?

Alright, is there a similar problem with the Physx drivers? Because I downloaded the newest ones and those wouldn't install either.

Edit: Also I just ran 3DMark06 and scored 6810 (SM 2.0 3074, SM 3.0 3065, CPU 1663). How do these scores look, I didn't notice a benchmarking thread.

Haven't had a problem installing the newest physx drivers from the nvidia site. Only problem I had was installing the qs57 chipset driver from dell

Been playing starcraft 2 on high settings on my cuz's hdtv at a constant 22 fps min with unit count at 200 + heavy fighting. Mated out at 30-45 fps with in more calm areas.

Lol notice we were running on battery when the low warning came on. My battery settings are on balance and high perf when plugged in. Definitely got a fps boost after.plugging in

If you download the latest nVidia drivers from Welcome to Dell Support, then they should work just fine without problems. If you download the nVidia drivers directly from nVidia's website, then they will not install properly unless you use a modded INF file.

And your 3dMark06 score of 6800 is about right, for stock systems. In order to get that higher, you would need to start overclocking your GPU (CPU overclocking won't really help you much there).
