Do you have any problems with your laptop?

If not then I dont see a reason to return it to be honest plus you got your warranty.

Are you kidding me? Don't send it back. It's an amazing laptop for it's size; give it a chance and it'll steal your heart.

Post kneejerk edit: If you want a real gaming computer, get a desktop. However, this thing will play Crysis, seamlessly switch between crappy graphics card and smooth graphics in a pinch, get at least 7 hours on the battery on the integrated card, and it a much better choice than an R2 system even with the i series. I guess I'm a "fanboy" but I love my R1. Don't send it back unless you really have a serious problem with it.

@Tech - The m11x is the most portable small gaming notebook their is. Bar none. Now, with that said, it's not for everyone. If you are into heavy gaming and want to play at high or ultra details, then send it back and choose something else. The only items on it that are upgradeable are: Memory and hard drive. Everything else is not. (not talking wifi or wlan here).

Loads of folks here like the m11x a lot. Just understand that people post when they have issues and when they are not they are most likely enjoying their m11x, rather than posting.

    Best wishes, StevenX

***this post is probably not my best because I am very tired after a long day of citrix issues...***

It handles dawn of war 2 fine. I have both DOW 2 and CR. Configure as native rez, high details, medium shadows and medium rain. Should play fine.

    Best Wishes, StevenX

    I love my R1... ( M11xR1 ) core 2 duo...
Switch graphics on the fly.. greate battery life.. no optimus issues.
    Easy.. and it workes!

I love my M11xR2 ( i5 ) .. It is the newer one I have.. I still am dealing with some bugs here and there.. But one of those bugs is optimus.. and others is opperating system.

I do have a slight glitch with HDMI cable.. barely touching it turns off the Monitor.. and when I try to produce the bug .. it is fine..

But after all.. Aliens live inside!

Honestly.. you will LOVE that machine! Any issues.. dial 1-800 alienware. Oh your bestbuy.. get the geek warranty.

Honestly .. If I was you.. I would return it.. and watch for the 20-25% off deals at Dell.com/outlet :p and buy an extended warranty there.. BestBuy warranty is not onsiite support and if you have a serious issue.. you will be without your M11x for prob 10 days +. for them to send it off where Alienware will send a tech out within 2 days fixing it at your home.

Referbished.. if any issues you call up alienware and they send a tech to replace a part... only thing it may have scuffs..

After having 2 M11x's.. I could EASILY sand down the case and repaint if need be.. for under the price of bestbuy WITH 2 year FULL coverage warranty. ( basically )
Geeke squad wont know what to do if its broken but send it back to there service center that is contracted with dell/alienware.

Sorry, but I would sent it back for a refund and get an outlet one. It was 610.00 delivered the other day .. tax etc.. + @ 220.00 2 year full accidental warranty.. prob cheeper then your purchace from Bestbuy.

Keep the laptop for the reasons that you bought it for in the first place. Yes even I have had some disparageing words to say about the M11x. (hinges)

At the end of the day when all is said and done, there is just not another laptop out there like it. If size and power make you feel good, then the M11x is your drug of choice.

Hi there, ive just recieved my M11x-R1, and 1st issue pop up: My Status zones (which indicate wiless, CAPS etc..) light is dimmer than the rest. I got my friend with his R2 right here and i can tell his is so much brighter than mine.

    What should i do?

Actually my friends R2 got the same problem, so i made myself belive that its normal for all those m11x out there

Back to the 1st issue, i found our that my CAPS icon on the status panel is smaller than R2. Is the r1 panel different from r2?

I have the same issue but I am not too bothered about it, as long as I can see it. Personally, I set them to white to make them stand out a bit more, if that helps.

The R1 and R2 KB both had an unusual dip in the g-h-y-t...ish are, speaking from personal experience.

Did you check the AlienFX Controller on the toolbar? Make sure the "Dim Lighting Zones" option is unchecked.

its not checked thanks for that advice.. and why does it say quick touch panel but yet when you touch it nothing happens is this maybe generic because it might be supported on the others m15 and m17 even the m11x r2

Yeah... m15x/m17x have those "glowing touch buttons" on the right hand side, too. One of those buttons activates the cursed "Stealth Mode" :p
