Sorry if this has been answered, but I just got my m11x with a 160gb (5400rpm) drive. I ordered a new WD Scorpio 7200rpm, separate from the laptop and would like to upgrade using the easiest solution.

Should just swap in the new hard drive and run the Alienware disc with Win 7?
I assume that it would just work doing it this way, instead of mirroring the old drive to the new using a usb cable and a cloning software?
And yes I have an external dvd drive.

Sorry, but I'm not much of a tech guy. Just trying to ease the hard drive swap process. Thanks for any advice. :D
