    Peer net appeared after I installed wifi driver from dell.

    WTH is it and is there a way to get rid of it from my notification area?

    Just remove from the startup list in msconfig, reboot & profit!

    edit: you can disable the service for it too..

    It's actually part of the wireless driver package from Dell. A more elegant solution to remove it is use programs in control panel to uninstall all peer net apps and the wireless driver. Then use device manager to point the now uninstalled device to the extracted dell driver package. This should allow just installation of the driver without all the peer net crapware.
