Hello. I have been a lurker on these forums for quite some time now, prior to getting my MX11 R2. I have had my laptop for a few days now and wondered if I am missing anything in terms of gaining extra performance from gaming. I have a MX11 R2, i5 processor, 2 GB ram (hoping to upgrade soon) 320 HD.
I have done:
Overclocked to 166
Turbo: on
Throttlestop: TDP: 30 TDC 70
I have also run the windows performance tool to boot it quicker.
I have updated the BOIS to A04 and also the latest nvida drivers.
Anything else I could do to get me some extra FPS in games?
Thanks

You can overclock the GPU with EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner. In fact, that's the best way to increase your FPS.

You could try game booster, It may help since you have only 2 GB ram. It usually gives me gains of 5fps.
Edit: I use the older version 1.6 -

Enjoy your new lappy man!

Thanks for the responce. I am currently experimenting with afterburn and game booster and that with throttlestop and overclocking, should be good. I am looking to upgrade ram also...thanks for thr tip.

I'd go for 2 more gb of ram as soon as you can and leave the rest the way it is. Ive had 3 Alienware machines die on me for pushing the video too far. At the very least make sure you play in a cool room

Agreed - the 2GB upgrade should be done without delay. It costs next to nothing... Just pickup a 4GB Kit since your system has x2 1GB sticks. No amount of software/bios tweaking is going to help if your swap file is working overtime.

Stick to this forum, it's the best one out there for this particular laptop

Thanks guys. I have just got myself 8 GB RAM on the way

Ok I have now installed 8 gig of ram however my windows experience still shows as 2.3. This was the same as when I 2 gb. Gaming has made s difference as Cod is maxed out and everything moving nicely. Also under system it does show 8gb being picked up.
