Hey guys, I'm looking for the newest GMA drivers for my R2 and I went to the intel site but there are several GMA versions and was wondering which to get.

I have 266.58 for the Gt335m from the Nvidia site, but I have:

From Dell Drivers site: Realtek, Half-Mini Wifi, Chipset, and old GMA drivers. Are any of these updated as of now? If so where can I get them? Thanks.

Dell doesn't update their drivers. That's what I am saying. Those are not the most up to date GMAs. Just like 266.58 is the most up to date but dell has 1 something on their site.

    Video

Well, grab the new Nvidia driver of the site, looks like you did just check every once in a while..

open the Intel HD Video control pannel (right click the blue icon in the bottom right, probably have to click the up arrow to show hidden icons and all that), then click graphics properties -> click options/support -> help and support -> click the link for graphic driver download (only works in explorer, so you will have to copy paste if your default browser is something else) then run the util on that page to search for new drivers.. it will show you new video and the chipset drivers if you need em.

    Mouse:
search for "synaptics gesture suite featuring scribe"- and install that from synaptics. slick tool that uses the multi touch pad (on r2's anyway) so you can do 2 finger scrolling, zooming etc once you turn on those options.. I turned of the scrybe part personally. There is a link on this site for new R2 user files that I got it from, but you'll have to do your own hunting & forraging for that.. :D

    Audio:
There is newer available that I was sent as an optional windows update, they suck so I would suggest the stock (they messed up the audio functions when you pull out headphones with changing the levels.. does some odd volume stuff.. )

    Bios:
Use that Dell link up above and pull the A4 bios, not a big difference, but higher OC on the cpu stability for me, and the A3 is supposed to have a ..highly debatable.. better fan setup, but fixes an issue with the Fn+F1-F12 on screen displays

    Other:
Get your Throttle Stop running (find the supercharge your mx11 thread), OC the CPU in the bios, and Find a GPU OC util for nvidia if you want to boost that too, (info for that should be here on this mx11 forum as well)

best thing to do though is waste an afternoon searching this mx11 forum.. lots of experience to be gained :p

Hey deevu, congrats on your r2. Would be glad to read your impressions on the comparison between your old r1 vs your new toy once you've had some time to tinker around with it, of course. Enjoy it!

No one seemed to touch on the GMA driver and then it went off topic so I decided to post another to specifically ask: What GMA model does the R2 have? I am receiving mine shortly and would like to have all the drivers on an external drive ready to be installed. I do not want the one off of dell's site because it is out of date. Which intel GMA driver does the R2 use?

    Thanks in advance,
    DeeVu

No reason to start another thread. In the future, use the post report feature if someone is derailing your thread with OT posts.

As you already know, the current driver on the M11xR2 support page is version 8.15.10.2182:
    Drivers and Downloads

The M11xR2 uses the Intel QS57 chipset. This would be the GMA you want to search for on Intel's support site.

Keep in mind, the latest driver is not always the 'best' driver. ;)

    Have fun.

Cheers :) You are quite right. I'm just anxious to get it that's all. Wanted it to be perfection.

    -Many Thanks,

Also, and I cannot confirm, but I noticed this on the release notes of the dell driver -

    Fixes and Enhancements
    1. Enhanced driver to get better performance out of the Arrandale CPUs with K0 Stepping.

They may have tweaked the intel driver or it may have been a change intel implemented in that version. Not sure.
