    If you have an iPhone, but didn't order the WWAN antenna installed, you can still tether your computer if you pay AT&T's monthly price, or whatever. Alternatively, you can Jailbreak your iphone (not giving instructions) and buy the app "MyWi" for 20$, which will allow your iPhone to be a mobile WiFi hotspot! Much better then a 120$ antenna!

    (if this breaks the rules- i'm very sorry)

    Nope, jailbreaking is legal. Its your device. but jailbreaking an iphone comes with some consequences. such as prices of apps get a surcharge from what im told. And no apple support. (hence why i use android) free tethering, or buy the app and get unlimited data tethering through PDANET.

    Lol, always thought jailbrake is for not paying anything at all...

    Anyway, its easyer to buy normal phone from the beginning and share its 3g over wifi AP. I'm doing so on my diamond 2 with the use of free app. No jailbrake, no 20 or 120 buck, no ty iphone.

    I just want to make one point clear.

    Yes, jailbreaking is legal. You cannot be criminally prosecuted on the grounds of breaking a law (e.g. the Digital Millenium Copyright Act) if you jailbreak your phone. "Legality" covers the relationship between you and the law enforcement authorities.

    However, jailbreaking viods your warranty with Apple (e.g. if you bring an iPhone with a jailbroken OS to Apple Support, then they can legitimately deny you service for violating their EULA), and violates your contract with AT&T. These relationships are between you and private entities (Apple Computers and AT&T), and are civil matters.

    Another option if available to you is Bluetooth Dailup.
    I have an olde world mobile with no WiFi but it does have 3G (385Kb) and thus provides my M11xR1 with reasonable bandwidth when out and about.

    Just a simple GPRS connection to dial the ISP.

    I regularly see 40KB throughput which is fine for web access and email.

    Kb = Kilo Bits
    KB = Kilo Bytes

    Or you can all move to Canada and use Rogers. Tethering is free, one of the many reasons I love my Iphone, I can get online on my M11x anywhere.
