Hi guys. My m11x r2 is having the hinge problem. Dell suport is going to give me a refund if I want it but I am not sure I do. I bought my pc from dell outlet, refurb. It has I7, 320 hdd, 4 ram, and is black. Payed 860 + tax on it about 2 month ago. It came with one year warranty.
What should I do? Return and be done with the hinge crap or keep and fix and hope for the best?
I looked arround and there are not many similar laptops for the same monney. Please advise me :) .

REPAIR dont be crazy you got a good deal on it thats why dell is like give us the computer back cause you ripped us off threw some kind of worm hole loop hole thing.

I would see if you could get a discount on a 3yr warranty.. I would think a lemmon law would apply to a computer too so if they have to fix the same problem 4 or more times by law they have to replace it with a new one or refund your money.. I went threw that with a eclipse GT back in 2000..

Yeah, I'd ask for the repair and a courtesy warranty extension before returning it...

You probably won't get a deal like that again until the R3s come out.

tx again. I guess it's unanimous. I will have to keep it. I tryed to get free waranty or more ram but they wont do it.
Anybody here had to replace a screen on their own? Is it expensive? I'm just afraid i'll run out of warranty and it will break again, then.

Well... If you really really want to use Alienware m11x laptop then I suggest you to take it for repairs.
Although there are many flaws with its design, I see a lot of people still sticking to it due to its performance and its great outlook.

I like the pc, but as you say, it has issues. Question is what better options are out there for arround 900$ ? I wold not mind a 14' screen, but, anything bigger wold be totally uncool :)))

We have two hinge threads where you can ask for opinions on your option to repair the hinge - please use one of those.

    Thanks.
