I'm seeking a good notebook cooler for my awesome laptop (m11x)

I heard someone saying about the Zalman NC2000 but its seems a bit too big, seems like it's only made for big laptop. Why I was looking at the NC1000 which is made for smaller lapptop but I dont know. I'm also looking at Thermaltake CLN008 been doing my research but can't decide. Money is no issue, so any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

I'm using a Coolermaster Notepal U2. It is a little big but work pretty well. I actually like that my keyboard is on a angle now for better typing.

    Thanks for your reply idlehand,

You have both fans positioned on the left side I take it? 1 fan below the laptops intake and another on the bottom of the left palm rest right?

Have you notice your notebook temps lower?

I have both fans next to each other under the intake fan. If you position the fan closer to the palm rest it will actually make contact with the surface you are on. I would have to do some actual benchmark tests to be sure but it works pretty well for me. For heavy gaming I usually average about 68 degrees. I idle less than 50 degrees.

I have the CoolMaster Notepal U1.
The m11x is a tiny bit bigger than the cooler, but it works very well.
    Almost perfect size....

I use the Coolermaster Notepal U1.

So far it works great, especially for a cooler that's under $15.

It fits just between the two rubber pieces you see -- where your power supply plugs into your unit will be in contact with the cooling pad, i personally use the nc1000 and love it

Ok, after trying for years and working my way thru 20 plus different pads, i found one that works, is small and transportable, is well made, and well, it outperforms any pad I've had except for the Bytecc which is big, awkwardly shaped and sounds like a jet engine spinning up...(but does cool like a banshee with the huge airflow)....
Here's the rub, the thing I have has no name.

It DOES have two numbers, "Laptop Cooling Pad 98187 wk3609"
    oh and "Made in China"

OK, its about six inches long, two inches wide, rectangular, with two std case fans side by side. Its metal and has four 'arms' which fold up flush around the rectangle when being transported, and fold out like a spider to support the laptop. Has a nice rubberized cover on the arms to prevent damage to your lappy or the surface it sits on. The genius of the design is that it solves two problems, first it lifts the laptop up off the surface so no matter where the air inlets are, they get free flowing unrestricted air. Second, you can flip the unit over depending on whether you need pressure or suction.

Additionally, its well made, and tho my version is riveted, when these fans show signs of age, since they are std ones, the aluminum rivets can be drilled out, the thing disassembled, the fans replaced, and then std screws used to put it back together.

As for performance, Depending on the ambient temps, I get around 4 to 5 C reduction. It would be easy to replace the fans for more airflow should that be desired.

Lastly, the best part, if I remember right Big Lots sold em for like 7 or 8 dollars.

I bought 3 and am glad I did.

Ok, one last thing, the M11x doesn't need it but if you are into heavy overclocking and/or want to be sure you're doing all you can, there is a small *sucker* fan you can buy for ten bux or so that has some hooks that you hook into the exhaust grill. it has a soft gasket so you can snug it up tight and most models have two speeds. If you get a good match on the connection, your internal fan will not even come on as the external fan pulls the air out over the grill. Oh high, its noisy but man does it move the air.

The combination of the two fans should solve anyone's cooling problem.

    Seer

ok, this is a 'ripoff' of the one I have, you can see the arms which fold out, however, mine has much larger openings for the fan blades, ergo more air flow, and rubber bumps which lift the fans up so they can get more airflow.

I don't have one as of yet but I'm sure it would fit nicely on it. The pad is probably bigger than the M11x itself but it still does its job.

Well guys I went to my local Fry's and bought Newegg.com - Thermaltake Massive23 ST 23cm fan Notebook Cooler Model CLN0009

And by god my laptop is running a lot cooler. It's way too hot in my house, so yeah I needed a cooler.

It's a pretty decent fit, it's not a perfect fit - the cooler is a tad bit larger then the laptop but it's cool. The fan is huge and offers excellent cooling plus it has nice blue lights to match my laptop :D The fan is surprisingly silent considering it's size.
