Hey guys, so I'm yet to try out my method but want your comments on it, it hasn't not been done before, it's just what I've researched, and I want to know if anyone has been successful or if it will work, so I have an Alienware M11x R2 and an LG 3D Monitor, Obviously the HDMI output on a r2 is only 1.3 not the required 1.4, so I was going to buy a DisplayPort to dual link dvi adapter to use, obviously frame rate wouldn't be amazing and stuff, but I'm willing to experience a slight lag.
The only problem would be the optimus tech, and how the alienware's have 2 video cards. One is obviously an Nvidia capable of displaying 3D. The other is a bog standard card. Does anyone know if the displayport is connected to the correct card? being the Nvidia? or is it connected to the other card.
cheers for any help! -Destabilise

HDMI runs on nvidia one, display port should be as well... if memory isn't wrong, intel integrated graphics only work with laptop display, nvidia card is used for HDMI etc.
Anyways, using the nvidia card shouldn't be a problem... if you're sure dual link dvi thingy will work for 3d then go for it... unless nvidia GPU will treat the DP to dual dvi differently than it would a monitor connected to the DP. -
Thanks very much!
ill give it a go

nvidia 3d only works with certain cards and the gt335m is not one of them >< i tried playing left in tears after the realization

I saw GT335M only supports 3D photos.....which is almost useless lol.

I have been playing in 3D stereoscopic for a while with my m11x-r2. LG-2342P and the provided software (Tri-Def). Since it uses passive polarized glasses and polarized interlaced, HDMI 1.3 is fast enough. But no joy so far with the official Nvidia Stereo Vision driver. I heard it's next to impossible to make it work on GT335M.
EDIT: I also have IZ3D for anaglyph and it's free. Works a treat.) -
Ok guys, so I brought the glasses today, along with a bizlink Display port to DVI Dual link adapter, my monitor is set at 120hz, and the results are perfect! I've been playing world of warcraft all day now in beautiful 3D, The deph is amazing and is handled very well, no lagging has been present and my alienware is handling it nicely, hardly any ghosting has also been spotted. So just to confirm, the GT335M Works with the 3dvisionlive website, the nvidia player, and other applications, I've tested World of warcraft, dead island and skyrim all with perfect beautiful results, a Bizlink DVI adapter has been used as recommended by the nvidia guys and it works a treat.
The Alienware m11x r2 does work with 3D, Who would have known!

I am trying this using the bizlink Display port to DVI Dual link adapter on my M11x R2 and I have no way to activate the stereoscopic 3D in the nvidia control panel, how did you manage to get this to work?
