Hello folks,
Here's 259.22 with Optimus support. I have modded it to work with your R2. Feel free to install and comment and discuss away....
I have pack the entire drivers along with the modded inf. Just extract to a folder and run the setup. Remember to driver sweep if necessary.
Lastly note that these drivers dont come with any warranty or any sort. I wont be responsible if it blow you up!And enjoy.....

PS: BFBC2 gamers please note that this still does not fix the PB issue. Apparently after some experimenting with my previously posted drivers, I have notice that Nvidia change the way they do a call for GT335M in Optimus. They seems to be using a new wrapper which is what that seems to create the multiple direct3d issue. Guess Nvidia wont be able to fix it but its more like PB needs an update :/
-
Is there any reason other than that to upgrade from those to these?
Jeez, I think we're going to need to get a league of M11x BCBF2 players together and just have some private online games PB free until they get this issue fixed. -
no idea. its just newer drivers. classify under 259.xx family. most current is 259.32 but that does not seems to have optimus support as far as i see from the drivers. it might fix some issue god knows. but there is no release notes that i can find. so i cant comment any on that. i have only test this with bfbc2 and sc2. as said pb issue still there. but sc2 seems to run great. this is all i can input

Mine is a very narrow data point since I only play WC3 (dota), HoN, LoL and TF2 but so far, these new drivers seem "better" for the case of WC3. Running with many effects off and medium detail yields ~30 fps until the action heats up. I still expect full 60 fps on this machine at max settings but the fact that it's marginally better than 258.96 says to me that more of the processing is handled correctly. It's at least playable vs the ~15 fps with the previous drivers.
-
These drivers are fine with Mass Effect and Team Fortress 2, I've played a few hours of each today on these drivers. My TF2 timedemo benchmark was the same as the 258.96 drivers. ME running great with everything set to max.
-
i cant wait for pb to fix the damn bfbc 2 prob. the new drivers are better. They gave up on my support ticket , they suck.
-
Does this fix the problem with chrome/firefox engaging the GPU while watching videos?
-
Firefox has had no problem being set to use the IGP for some time now - even with Flash 10.1 installed. White list the plugin-container.exe file found in the FF program directory and you're all set.
-
I'm not on my alienware atm but can't you just blacklist firefox or wahtever from using the nvidia?
-
When you verify what application is utilizing the 335 you will see plugin-container.exe when viewing Flash video in Firefox, not firefox.exe. After you white list plugin-container.exe it will show up in the nvidia control panel's application list as Mozilla Firefox (mozilla firefox/plugin-container.exe).

Having issues with these drivers with source games -
Seems everytime I setup the video options and set them. On the next restart of the game it loads to a blank screen and just a cursor.
Have to reset by running with a "-dxlevel 90" switch.
Shame, as it fixed FallOut 3 -
thanks i havent tested with source game. Since mostly what concern me is the PB issue and SC2 performance. So thats what only I have tested after installing before uploading to share
-
Can I install this over the Dell 257.30 driver or do I have to do a driver sweep? Also I am a noob at this, so step by step instructions would be appreciated.
-
This driver 259.22 does not appear to install the NVIDIA PhysX System Software. I installed the 9.10.0513 version from this link and it appears to be fine. Also it states that this version of PhysX fixes bugs in Mafia 2 - I don't play Mafia 2 so can't comment. Thanks

Will this fix the issue where my brightness can't be increased via AlienWare On-Screen software?!
-
There is no rule to a specific folder you need to extract to. Just extract to an temporary folder then run the set up. after finish installing you can delete the folder no issue
-
-
fps seems to be a little worse than I experienced with the quadro drivers on ff14, not running fraps though so not sure.
-
Do these drivers officially fix the SC2 performance? Does it actually increase GPU load during gameplay? Since it previously has been reported to be unusually low...
-
Thanx for these drivers...it gave me a 5-7 fps boost in SC2 (everything high except med shadows and reflections off) to an avg fps of around 32 and it dips down to 20-23 in huge battles (with battle cruisers and storms).
Mafia 2 got around a 3-4 fps boost...now I can run on medium with about 27-29 avg fps.
One thing weird is that when I start the Mafia 2 demo a huge text appears on the top left corner of the screen in a pixelated font. It says "PHYSX > CPU" and it doesn't go away, even when I am playing the game.
Here is a screen-shot so you can see what I am talking about (look at the top left corner): http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv234/Fas91/Mafia2.png

if you go to nvidia control panel under the 3d settings menu, does it go away when you untick the "show physx visual indicator"?
-
Thanks for the tip outspaced, it fixed it! But it still plays in windowed mode.
-
Glad it worked- you see I've had that checked the whole time but I obviously haven't played any PhysX games at all, I was curious to see what the indicator looked like
-
Can someone please post the drivers on another website? Megaupload seems to be down or extremely slow.
-
Anyone know how well do these drivers work with TF2?
-
they work as well as 258.96 for tf2
-
-
I had been running these drivers for several days, but today after changing my AA settings in TF2 the screen went black, but sound remained and the cursor was visible. I closed the program, and restarted etc but the problem remained, and also for other games. I have reinstalled 258.96 and everything is fine again.
-
Thank you kopicha, the driver seem to be working fine.
I can't play Lost Planet Colonies in Directx 10 with the previous driver and now it can play well. -
I'd upload to hotfile, hope it will help -
-
-
I tried to install these drivers and I received an error stating "The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I received this trying to install the 258.96 drivers as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am positive. i7, 4GB Ram, 320GB(7200rpm), Win7Home64bit. I had the 258.96 installed before you updated the set with the inf file in it so I did it manually and it worked. I performed a driver sweep and tried to install these new ones. Now I cant even roll back to 258.96. I'll include a screen of my specs. Also, I am unable to play CS:S and HL2, but BFBC2 works flawlessly. I tried to add CS:S and HL2 to the whitelist, yet it still forces me to play them with integrated graphics. I am baffled.
-
I can't attach it but the driver version is 8.17.12.5730.
-
also in regards to BFBC2, I believe you are talking about playing it offline. i believe any drivers can play that game offline no issue. however its known that any drivers beyond 189.xx wont allow you to play online -
I was referring to the optimus issue with CS:S and HL2. I don't know why they were launching with the integrated graphics even though they are white listed. Anyway, I just uninstalled my current drivers and tried to install yours and received that error message. I successfully installed the 258.96 about a week ago and then I tried to update to the 259.22. After I received the error message it popped up for the 258.96 ones too. Any help would be appreciated.
-
if they still launch integrated thou they are whitelisted could be due to that the profile in the nvidia driver is meant for a different version. like Steam store their files in a different area compare to retail installation. You should try to manually add them then set to Nvidia and it would usually work out.
As for the drivers, I dont quite understand why is this happening to you. I think I am probably one person who install and remove drivers much more often than anyone in this forum due to that I had to test those drivers before posting them but I have never run into such problem like you are reporting. Can you please try to uninstall your drivers. then boot into safe mode and do a driver sweep. try to run it twice to make sure its really clean out then try installation again?
as for the drivers I have posted details are as follow,
258.96 <-- this will require you to manually copy inf and overwrite in where Nvidia extract the drivers to. You should get a prompt to overwrite files if you do it correctly. I am not sure if you are running on factory image or clean win 7 installation but do note that if you are on clean installation there is a possibility that windows UAC might stop you from attempt to copy the files over. Check the date of the file to make sure you have the correct inf in folder.
259.22 <-- this drivers I have already include the necessary inf file in the package. just extract and run the setup will do the work
189.79 <-- this is similar to the above 259.22 -
Okay sorry for the delay I just finished some finals so I have had some time to try booting in safe and performing the two drive sweeps. I am only able to install the official dell drivers. for everything else it states that it couldn't find any compatible drivers. I don't know why I can't reinstall the 258.96 BETA drivers again. I appreciate your help in advanced.
-
258.96 require the modded inf. you cant install it directly after running the extracts directly from Nvidia's package.
someone posted a pretty in depth description regarding one of the steps. you may want to read it and see if you are doing the right thing

259.22 is just run setup after un-7zipping it
I had the 189.xx before so i didn't have the taskbar icon thing, I like it -
I performed a clean install of windows and was able to reinstall the 258.96 BETA drivers. Thanks for your help.

hi sorry noob question, just wanna check before i install the driver.
Do i uninstall my old nvidia drivers then reboot and do a driver sweep then install the new drivers? Say if i didn't like it, I could just reinstall back the old dell drivers?
also, there's many versions of drivers available- is one better over the other?
thx -
Hi, first post on new M11x. Received M11x yesterday and have been updating drivers - thanks to all for links and support. Having issues running portal on 259.22, boots to blank screen with cursor. No issue with Crysis (or Warhead). Can anyone offer any help/advice, or do I just rollback to previous driver?
-
i recommend the 258.96 drivers for source games like TF2 or portal, seem completely stable. I had the black screen with the 259.22 drivers also. Performance is the same from what I can see.
