there is no definition of best driver at the moment. each work good for different ppl base on their different need. you need to try yourself.
if you are upgrading to a higher version it should be fine to install over other. but if you are downgrading version its advisable to driver sweep.
you can install any drivers you like be it modded ones or dell ones. it gives no reason why you cant rollback to dell ones if you dont like the modded ones. they are all drivers from nvidia. dell dont write drivers bear this in mind.
lastly imo none of the drivers from dell are good. the modded ones are better in almost everyway.
257.30 imo cant compete with 258.96 in quite a number of ways. too much known bugs with 257.30. i find it worst than the stock driver 189.69. but 189.79 would be better than 189.69 since the stock driver from dell cant even let you play SC2 with the Nvidia GPU. thats all i can tell you. the rest would be up to you to try yourself.
