    Edit: Whilst trying to install
    current driver: 8.17.12.6658

EDIT 2: gone through nvidia site and re downloaded it XD its 179mb in size where as the other one was 173, they were both GB versions and the 275.33 driver, strange, hopefuly this one will work

Edit 3: New driver works :) my aero desktop performance went from 3.6 to 5.3

Mine was already at 5.3 before this driver. I last ran the test about 2 months ago so its something else thats sorted the aero performance not this driver.

it was definitely the driver considering graphics is all that went up needless to say It's not like the score improves anything just another way to measure yourself. Did you have the beta driver installed when you ran it last time?

For me this is the perfect driver so far. All my games (Heroes of Newerth, The Sims 3 and all expansions, Black & White 2, Fable 3) plays well using it.

Had one issue where Medieval II: Total War froze (no overclocking).

Not sure if it was just a once off thing or a driver issue.

Think it's anything related to the opening video not playing properly (never has on either of my laptops). Has anyone tried editing the config file so the video doesn't play and see if that cures the problem you're having with the new driver?

Civ 5 still works great for me with this driver

Glacius1 mentioned earlier in the thread:

'I had that problem and resolved it by setting "SkipIntroMovie = 1" in the UserSettings.ini file (which is located in Documents>My Games>Civilization 5).'

I'm going to give the new driver another go and try that.

I can confirm that Civ5 works now after putting in the skipintro fix. The GPU activity icon still won't go away though..

Are you talking about the icon in the system tray? I'm wondering if that's a "feature" of the new drivers as it now appears for me when i am gaming and sticks around even after i'm done.

    Finally M11x R1 has landed!

Oles I just tried to install these Drivers on the R1. I chose clean install. I guess that was my mistake?

Any ideas on how to install them properly on the M11x R1?

I reboot and it is not installed properly + the green boomerang has disappeared.

    Cheers. :)

the drivers aren't meant for the R1. if you do install you'll lose the intel graphics so you'll have to set the nvidia gpu as the default card in the bios.

Thanks for the info and reply.

Ahh true true. I thought that might be it but didn't want it to be true lol. So I guess the newest drivers will have to be the ones off the Dell website then? From 3 months ago correct? No too bad I guess.

    Cheers. :)

I installed this new driver last night and observed a slight improvement in framerate for Starcraft 2 during 2v2 multiplayer (where improvements are always welcome/needed). I don't have any hard numbers, but the fps stayed higher for longer into the game (before, as always, dropping into difficult-to-play values in the late game with large battles).

they are meant for the R1... its just they dont support gpu switching so you need to run in discrete mode. im using these right now.

This might sound like a stupid question, but I havent been keeping up with any of these drivers. Does BFBC2 with punkbster still work on this new driver? I think I'm still on the first driver for the R2 that allowed that game to work properly. I would love to update to a newer driver. Thanks.

I have the M11X R3 and the new certified driver didn't require the modded inf.

Not that this is any help, but no issues in my many hours of LoL since updating. Alt-Tabbed last night to change volume settings with no drama.
