Your PC's NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M does not meet the game's recommended requirements.
The recommended GPU for Battlefield 3 is a GeForce GTX 560 or higher. Check below to see some upgrade options. To see other system requirements for Battlefield 3, please click here.

    Wow really?

I didn't try installing it yet. Thats really going to suck. It says in the release its for 300m series as well.

    Hmm something to think about.

EDIT: So I think I read your post too fast. Where do you see this?

I didn't have any problems installing the driver just now.

The Alpha ran perfectly on the R2. I have no doubt it will run fine on our R3s.

The 285.38 beta drivers work perfectly fine on my M11x-R3. As with all Reference Nvidia Notebook drivers, Optimus works fine as well.

Alpha didnt have any settings. It was all set to auto. The only thing you can change was resolution and i had it to my 1080p monitor. I have a thread about it somewhere with video. Just search youtube - m11x r2 1080p battlefield 3

Drivers are working fine for me.

Just played about an hour of Crysis 2 and there definitely is some improvement.

I played the Alpha on the R2 (I5, 180 on Setpll, throttlestop on and NO video card overclock). External monitor at 1600x1050 under Auto settings ran between 20 and 40 FPS. I assume with the new driver and beta improvements that frame rates will improve, question is by how much. For all of you all on the fence I recommend playing the beta and deciding from there.

R1 User Here, and installed the beta Drivers while At work. Had to Switch to Discrete Mode in Bios to get the Nvidia GPU to be utilized. When I right clicked on Desktop I was getting Both Nvidia and Intel Graphics Option box. When I clicked on the intel, the options would come up. When I clicked on Nvidia, I got a prompt every time stating Nvidia GPU was not set or something similar.

In my opinion that "system checker" is a gimick for people to get scared and impulse buy a new graphic card before the release. If you notice it says you only need a new card to have "OPTIMAL" experience...

I use an R1 and since I installed this driver, when I close the lid to put my laptop to sleep it will not respond when I reopen the lid. The lights come on, but there is no fan noise or video response. I have to hold the power button to shut it down. I was previously using the 260.99 hybrid drivers posted on these forums. I tried installing the previous version of the nVidia driver and the issue is the same. Trying to find out if a format is worth my time at this point.

So if I install this on my R1 will I still be able to switch to the intel graphics?

No, only the dell drivers allow you to switch.

Try switch the optimal grafx option by adding the game shortcut in the nividia control panel

i think the game shortcut is located at programs files/Origin Games/Battlefield 3/bf3

    hope you find this useful
