So me and my wife work in the same office complex.. Different companies but same building.. We go to work together and part our ways as we enter different offices for the day. I usually pop in her office to see whats up for lunch.. And look what I see on her desk!!! MY M11x!!!!! She has a big smile on her face and I know now that I need to buy her her own one... She now believes her toshiba 15.6" laptop is a monster with no guts..

Guess I have to wait till those 20% off outlet coupons come out one more time.. I might get me an R2 with an i7 CPU and pass off my C2D to her..

Its amazing how this laptop makes people love it. I think Dell needs to kick me back some money because, I personally have cause the purchase of 3 of these devices over the past 2 weeks. Now.. a 4th one coming soon... thanks to the wife.

Be happy it's just an M11x and that she's smiling. It could have been the house and she'd changed the locks. AND taken your M11x. :D

If your wife isn't gaming then would probably have a bigger smile if it was a 12" Lenovo X200/X201, HP 2530P/2540P or Dell E4200. All coming with the more web-browsing friendly matte 1280x800 LCDs. The E4200 and X200 is a featherweight compared to the m11xR1. The HP with a next-day onsite warranty.

Yes thats pretty expensive tastes in computers Crazy... Perhaps you can convince her that the graphics card is really made for CAD/CAM design OpenGL type of work.. Unless she is an engineer doing crazy modeling.... Well. then.. your in for a large ticket purchase. And yes Happy wife = happy life. Been a happy marrage now for 15 years so I guess we are doing something correct.

well ... shes HEAVY into CAD/CAM and open GL work, as well as all the CS5 apps. ( architect with a side of journeyman cabinetmaker ) and video editing as a hobby. The Elitebook was a necessity and the sIPS screen was a bonus. ( my 8740W is used more for gaming, coding and general work so the FP is overkill for ME )

If you think her choice in laptops is bad she " needed " a new rendering station as her 2 Mac Pros werent cutting it........ next thing you know im building her a unit with a Tyan Motherboard, 4 Opterion 6172 CPU's ( 48 total cores ) and dual V9800 Cards. 96GB RAM and enough storage to start an ISP.

oh well Happily married 11 years here and for her work and sanity ( mine too :D ).... its so worth it.... to her co workers it annoys them as she has better gear at home.

Same here, bought my R1 when it came out, and I had to buy a R2 for myself, as she's using my R1 for Study (game design) ^-^
