I'm running on the 270.61 driver, but idk how good it's been. Since i've had it i've experienced my laptop overheating, idk if the video card was too demanding on the processor, but i've had low fps with gta4, unlike other times, but i've had great fps on MW2, bc2, not so much as well. Can anyone tell me what drivers they prefer and whether or not it would be beneficial to roll back?

    PS:
For some reason dell has stopped posting the stock video drivers with the m11x r2..i checked and that plus a lot more isn't there in the drivers&downloads section now. :(

    THANKS!!!

Are you experiencing problems with GTA4 only? Because GTA4 is notorious for having a really bad build that requires a really great processor to run properly. Though I believe the R2 with i7 should be enough for running GTA4, it is still a very demanding game. I couldn't run it at all with my R1. Some say that updating GTA4 to 1.0.401 i think or something like that fixes this problem and that it'll help make GTA4 run a lot smoother and better.

Whitelist GTAIV, I use the same driver and I get 30-40fps playing with the settings (mix of mediums, highs and lows)

hiya, i updated gta and theres a HUGE difference in performance, it automatically played descently on high settings. BUT, the only problem i experienced was that it wasn't COMPLETELY lag-free, the framerates jumped around a lot.

Another thing is, when i play games my laptop is getting REALLY hot. I vacuumed dust from the fan area today, and no improvement. It seems like it's been doing it from the new driver. I never had this problem before i installed the new driver. My laptop reaches a point where it just shuts off to cool off.

EDIT: Can anyone help me maybe configure or download something that can make my fan do more work? haha. It works, but i think it could do more when im gaming. My laptop literally shut off on me after like 3 games of mw2, overheated def.

Tha lag of GTA4 is due to poor build quality. The update fixes this quite a bit but based on your experience, it wasn't fixed 100%. I'm not sure why your driver is doing this, as I don't think other R2 owners are experiencing this problem..It could be an isolated overheating issue with your laptop. But stick around for a bit and try and see if other R2 owners with the same driver is experiencing the same problem. Update other drivers if you haven't already just to be sure.

I switched back to 267.76. I tried the 270.61 drivers - but my 3dmark06 score went down significantly and I had a few BSoD with those drivers.
