A side-topic from the "NVidia Optimus Refresh", as well as an observation I've seen on the board over the last few weeks...
Everyone seems to hate on Optimus for "not having a manual switch". Is everyone else overlooking that you can whitelist explorer.exe so it will always cause the 335m to be used whenever you want to ensure the discrete card is activated? This apparent lapse in logic has really felt like the giant elephant sitting on the coffee table, to me. I can't stand to not mention it any longer unless someone offers up some explanation:
How does Optimus -not- have a manual switch?
-
-
complaining about a manual switch then get the R1.
-
So this is my question then. If you whitelist explorer.exe to use the IGP, and then you open a game that has been whitelisted to use the 335, what will the resulting behavior be?
-
As for Craig's question, the 335m will. If you have anything that's whitelisted the 335m running, it will use the 335m. -
Im saying that it does kinda have a manual switch by letting you whitelist the applications you. Im saying to those who loves to complain about it not having one should just get the R2. Maybe you just misunderstood my post.

I know it does have a manual switch, that was my question!
What is everyone complaining about it not having a manual switch for? It has one! -
Ok - we are done here. Discuss this in the GPU section of NBR if you want - http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/ . Not going to have this type of back and forth bickering.
