    Evening,

Just installed windows drivers etc onto my new Crucial M4 SSD in my M11 R3 and updated to the latest Nvidia driver and for the life of me cannot get optimus working?

I have installed in exactly the same way as I always do but this time Optimus will not kick in just stays on 3D Performance clocks and I have tried everything I know.

    Little help please.

Tried reinstalling graphics drivers numerous time and tweaking settings and nothing my clocks are stuck at high performance unless I switch the graphics settings to balanced :( any ideas before I do another factory reset. Don't make me sell it!!

Remove drivers, do a clean with driver sweeper, and install the drivers from Dell's site. If it works, we know it was a driver issue.

Remember that Dell does not support or advise you to use the latest drivers, only the stable drivers officially supported by Dell. When you use newer drivers there is always the chance that things will not work.

I just wiped my HDD 2 weeks ago. I just installed Intel's HD drivers first, then Nvidia's from their website and it works. I restarted everytime I install 1 driver though, just to be safe.

It did exactly the same thing and then all of a sudden Optimus kicked in randomly as if it was trying to settle or something. Totally random never seen it do that before, IRobot moment :D
