Just like to say thanks for all of the help from members here. I decided to buy the R3 today after looking through the boards the past few months following the hinge fix and other m11x news. Originally I was going with the R2 but since the R3 just came out, I changed my mind :D

I have the upgraded processor, sound and video card, bluetooth 3.0 and a case to carry the machine in. It came to roughly $1500 after tax.

Can't wait to receive my machine!

I'm using my kid as an excuse. He's taken to stealing my R2 for minecraft when we play on the weekends, so I officially started the "I need an M14x" campaign with the wifey today.

It wasn't me that ordered the laptop. It was actually a gift from my boss (he let me customize the system) but I'm not sure if he used the coupon or now. I'm almost sure he didn't use it though.

Well played sir, but try campaigning when she is "extra happy", I find that's the best time to ask women for the real necessities, like M11x, Xbox, Big Led TVs, hehehe...

I have my M11xR1 for nearly a year, and I'm considering an upgrade, however, considering all the work I do on a regular basis, I don't mean the SDD upgrade, the WWAN and WWAN Antennas installs, or the decal I put on the cover, but my regular work as a Web Developer

At the beginning of the year, I lost my job, and after that I start to freelance, and now I'm earning nearly as much, and working much less than before, the difference is that before I did my work stucked inside an office, 6-8h a day, 5 days per week with a white wall for viewing, now I do my work at home or outside, looking at a real view.

I'm doing all that thanks to my M11x that has a superb performance (for it's size) and excellent battery life, and 3G internet of course, sure, I could be doing that with another notebook, but I really like my m11x, I'm just seeing how things are gonna play out, if I'm gonna get a new job or continue my freelance work, and then I'm considering posting a topic with that.

One thing that It's a major con, but I'm used to by now, and that they don't seem to have fixed in M11xR3, is that ultra-reflexive screen.

Good for you matey. I run the development arm of a design shop so know exactly what you mean :) I would never go get a 'real' job now. That's part of the argument with wifey for the computers I buy as well - Well honey, they're basically free as they are tax deductible.
