I got the i5 and should be getting it anyday now. I have read tons of threads about overclocking and how it will improve your gaming but at the same time how it will decrease the life of your battery. I want to know if overclocking is bad your for computer as like most electronics the harder you run them the faster they burn out.

As long as your temps dont get too hot you shouldnt worry about it. It will probably slightly decrease your battery life but not a lot.

Overclocking generally isn't going to have much of an impact on your battery life if you're a properly configured Power Saver power plan.

EDIT: Woops. I didn't fully read bavman's reply. He is correct.
